newcastle broon
With Newcastle only getting very minimal tickets for tomorrow's league cup match at Hull City and Hull not willing to give any more tickets despite poor sales from themselves Newcastle are now beaming the match back to the bars inside St. James to which 7k tickets have been taken up.

NE63 exile
Not connected with the big three but good to hear Darlington will play their first game back in the town on Boxing Day after they announced the FA had inspected their new ground and it was fit to go.
ICTChris
Jonjo Shelvey gets a five game ban for verbally abusing a Wolves player. Anyone know what he's supposed to have said? ETA, it's been confirmed he was racially abusive to Wolves' Moroccan player Romain Saiss. Edited December 20, 2016 by ICTChris

We won't find out until the panel release their report sometime after Christmas. He's always seemed like a bit of a pr*ck to be honest.

newcastle broon
South Shields club statement says they wanted the match played this Saturday (14th) to allow for the floodlight work to be carried out but the FA have refused and insist the match must be played on Wednesday 11th January. No messing there. The winners will be away to Team Solent on Saturday 28th January. The only other northern side left in the competition Sunderland RCA have been drawn away to Newport Pagnall Town. Fair bit travelling there, anyone been to Team Solent or Newport Pagnall Town s grounds ? Northern clubs have dominated this trophy in recent years, surprisingly only 2 will be left in at this stage this season. newcastle broon
South Shields v Morpeth Town. Game switched by the FA at very short notice (again no messing), in the afternoon, after Shields lights not fixed on time. Final score Morpeth Town 0-4 South Shields, tie was over by half time (0-3). Would imagine Shields be short priced favourites to win the vase despite the difficult away tie in the next round. FA trophy 2nd round Saturday 14th January Gateshead v Lincoln City. Bully Wee Villa
Apparently Morpeth were two goals up and Shields had a man sent off before the initial game was abandoned with just eight minutes to go.I think South Shields should've conceded the tie under the circumstances. Poor show. Eta: just noticed the initial match had already been mentioned above.

newcastle broon
Saturdays fa vase saw Sunderland RCA go down 3-2 away at Newport Pagnell Town whilst South Shields march on with an impressive 2-5 away win at Team Solent taking a 300+ travelling support. Funny enough South Shields now have a 1/4 final home tie with Newport Pagnell Town which will be played on Saturday 18th February. South Shields left as the northern leagues only representatives this season but remain strong favourites to lift the trophy. newcastle broon
Middlesbrough March into quarter finals of FA Cup wi 3-2 win over Oxford. Elsewhere Gateshead pick up a decent 3-1 win against promotion chasing Forest Green though Lincoln City remain firm favourites if the FA Cup doesn't distract them. Gateshead are now just 4 points off the play offs but will need a bit of luck to reach them. South Shields made it to the semi finals of the FA Vase hammering 6 past Newport Pagnell Town in front of a record 3161 crowd. Have to also mention Blyth Spartans winning 2-1 away at promotion rivals Stourbridge to put them 15 points clear at the top of the league.
