On another note, this Serie A season is shaping up to be an interesting one. Great to see the top 4 made up of the unlikelier teams, bar Napoli. I’d love to see them win it.

I would too, them or Atalanta. Napoli have no success in their history other than the brief but amazing Maradona era and now this second rise to prominence since the 2010s. They've always enjoyed a large home crowd but so have other Southern teams, Bari and Lecce, so its no guarantee of success. I'd love to see those fans rewarded this season and it'd be a nice boost for Neapolitan pride, a city not without its problems.

Roma came from behind to stun Inter 2-1 earlier; Empoli then seemingly secured a point with stoppage time scenes against Milan, only for Milan to run straight back up the other end and score twice to snatch the game back.

Another tremendous evening's viewing from this league.

Lewis Ferguson got his first start for Bologna last night. Middle of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1, his best position, played the full match and did fine. 3-2 defeat for his team in Napoli. Could've been a Scottish double as the Verona - Milan game was also on BT Sport but Josh Doig who normally starts for Verona didn't appear, probably injured. Match was a low key, ground out win for Milan. Tonali with another late winner, something he specialises in, maybe due to excellent stamina rather than just coincidence.

Bologna matches keep getting put in the TV schedule since Thiago Motta became their coach so I'm becoming a bit of a follower of them. Motta's arrival has also been great for Lewis Ferguson as Motta seems a fan where the previous coach wasn't. Lovely goal from Ferguson tonight, the third in Bologna's 3-0 win, worth looking up a clip of.

So what's going on at Juventus?
I mean probably cheating and corruption but more specifically.....
Said the players took four months unpaid to help with covid losses but in reality they only took one, Ronaldo getting off contract bonuses, and probably myriad other dodgy accounting tricks. As Herr Klinsmann might say "It's part of their culture".
