11TH MAY 1991
Any rationale to the decision to take the final to Benburb? Most people at the game yesterday thought it will not be big enough......
not man of the match
Some sort of statement from the clubs would be good here, that's almost a week and nothing despite all the clamour about it not being big enough before the rest of the stuff that's going about. BANKIEBILL
What's the rest of the stuff NMOTM ? As I understand it the Region believes NTP to be big enough for the needs of the expected crowd. I'm not so sure but will get there early in any case - and hope I don't need to visit the loo ☺
11TH MAY 1991
Bill, what is the capacity of Tinto and what was the attendance at the last two Clydebank/Pollok finals?

The Region knows jack shit, proven time after time. Not fit for purpose and no interest in promoting the junior grade as this ludicrous decision shows. BANKIEBILL
11th May - given as 1000 on some sites but 750 on here by some. I've no been to the ground but others I've spoken to have expressed their surprise at using the venue for this game. I believe the last 2 finals between the sides ( at Maryhill ) has seen around 1400 ( 2006 ) and around 1000 ( 2014 ) ... Don't know what the position was with Lochburn availability although it may be the quality of the pitch at this time of the year ... mibbee one of the Maryhill lads can shout up about that. lokforever
I've got the attendances at 2006 - 1,237 and 2014 -
Budandavodka
We've done alot of work in the close season on the pitch including putting 20-30 tonne of sand down, visiting teams so far have commented saying it's the best they've seen it in a number of years. Aye I added a bit on for non-paying "customers" - who presumably will still actually want to see the game tb74

11TH MAY 1991
So, what other alternatives are available since Benburb clearly isn`t suitable? Can one of our dozen or so Directors please clarify? The silence is extremely disappointing to say the least.......
Bankies Alive
It's not up to Clydebank directors to come up with a venue! Its a West Region decision.

No, but some form of comment would have been nice. Did the board feel it was a good venue?
Bankies Alive
It's been changed hasn't it? Did Pollok make a statement?
not man of the match
Has it, it doesn't say!I'm not a Pollok fan, I don't know what they do. I want to know if the Clydebank FC directors felt that it was a suitable venue? I don't think that is a tough or harsh question. I appreciate the job the board does, just want to know their thoughts. Position should have been clear from the outset though. Thankfully common sense and Strathclyde's finest stepped in.
