A massive game in prospect next week against Dunbar who have the meanest defence in the league. Another fine win took a while to break Livingston down though then tbey went down to 10 nen. Burnie_man
Blackburn Utd 2 Girvan 5A little flattering to the visitors as it was closer than the scoreline suggests. Awful start found us two down after 10 mins but we got back into the game and dominated possession, Mildren pulled one back then Lawrie hit the post. Out of nothing Girvan got the third just before HT. A defensive error saw them score after 35 secs of the restart but McQuillan pulled one back with half an hour remaining. Again we pushed them back but couldn't find a third and they scored near the end to wrap it up.A good performance for long spells, they are a big strong team and clinical in front of goal. Roll on next week, will I need a calculator?

A wasn't at the game yesterday due to work but was told the Stoneyburn goalie had a few great saves and we missed a few good chances as well. We did play out the last 20 mins against 10 men right enough. Am sure if Stoneyburn had to play West Calder every week they wouldn't be sitting rooted to the bottom of the league cos they can always raise their game against us. Yes lee our big goalie had 3 or 4 "worlds" saves yesterday though your goalie had a great save at the death one on one to stop us snatching the 3 points . Over the moon with a point in the end as we were up against it when down to 10 men . Consistency has been the problem with us and it's just been good timing that we've had a strong side the last few times we've played you . Hopefully the performance yesterday can be carried over now into the next games . Think at any level of football consistency breeds success . Dont think the old heart good deal with playing west Calder every week . Best of luck to the Calder lads for the rest of the season .

There's no doubt consistency is the key, being able to pick the same team as often as poss helps the gaffer. All the best for your guys to am sure you ll lift yourselves up the the league before the end of the season.

Burnie_man
Blackburn Utd 3 West Calder Utd 0 Burnie scored after 6 minutes through Chris Marshall, although chances were few and far between, Gavin King pulled off a great save from a Cauther free kick before a nasty collision between him and Anthony McLaughlin saw both men go off at half time. Andy McQuillan pulled on the goalie gloves for Burnie with Ross Donnelly coming on up front. McQuillan didn't have a lot to do as Burnie passed up a number of chances to increase the lead before Cauther hit the post near the end. Right on 90 minutes Darren Fleming scored with a neat back heel to deservedly seal the match and in injury time Ross Donnelly notched a third with a nice finish. pumphy_man
Kirkcaldy YM 2 Pumpherston 7 Kirkcaldy were first to open the score after a sloppy start from the visitors, however Pumphy scored two goals in succession from Mcritchie and Hepburn.Back came Kirkcaldy once again to level the scoring before ht.Second half Pumpherston dominated scoring 5 unanswered goals from Hepburn x2 to complete his hatrick and 2 goals each from Murray and another from Mcritchie. This prompted the goalkeeper to be subbed who wasn't to chuffed with his defence Pumphy had another 3 goals chalked off. The Doctor 46
Easthouses Lily 0 West Calder 2 Really good result for Cauther today in a place not easy to get a win. Am sure their players will say the ref was bad, and blame him for the result, however if you fill your team with rugby players ( no8 & no4 ) and guys that want to mouth of at the ref you can't expect to finish the game with 11 players most weeks. Anyway 2 good goals for us, hit the post and bar a couple of times and their goalie had a good save right on halftime so really happy with the 3 points. Finally as for their big no4 no sure if he was centre half or scrum half, trying to get to our captain regarding his accidental sickening clash of heads with the Blackburn goalie last week, shame on you ya cock!! Burnie_man
Stoneyburn 0 Blackburn Utd 2 Always a tough game against the Fulshie and this was no different, particularly on a very bumpy surface, but Blackburn should have been a few goals up by half time, one chalked off, a great save by the Stoneyburn keeper, and a few other missed chanced before Aaron Gowans finally got the opener right on half time. That was after both teams were reduced to 10 men after an off the ball clash, yellows instead of red would have been the right way to deal with it but the ref saw differently. Second half was a little more even with Stoneyburn coming more into it, but it was Craig Young who sealed the win, running from half way to score with a few minutes left.
