South Challenge Cup 2016-17

Identical situation in the EOS Qualifying Cup - Duns and Eyemouth got byes in R1 and were drawn to meet in R2, but Duns folded.

In SCC last season Vale v Tynecastle was a R1 tie and the winner went directly through to R3, as R2 opponent Kelso folded early in the season (although looking at the results it was actually played on R2 day so to all intents and purposes as if tie in R2).

LTHV and Tynecastle obviously can't both play Home at Saughton Enclosure on that Saturday 12th though.

One to Fri / Sun, if the grass pitch can take it?

Or give up Home advantage to go to plastic at Ainslie Park / Riccarton say?

South Of Scotland League website's fixtures pages show Tynecastle v Spartans will remain Saturday 12th Nov, with LTHV v Glasgow University a week later on Saturday 19th.

Dominant display from Whitehill yesterday 3-0 up at the break and 2 more in the last 2-0 minutes secured a big win.

Caught the 2nd half of Edinburgh Uni 1 Wigtown & Bladnoch 0. Jack Guthrie's first half goal proving enough.

Strong QF line up!

Took in the Edinburgh Uni v W&B game........was a little surprised at how dominant Uni were.

As previous poster alluded to, strong Quarter Final line up.

Wouldn't mind a trip to Castle Douglas to see Threave v Whitehill.

Wigtown never seemed to get going in the game tbf, game got very scrappy too near the end!

FT - Lothian THV 3-0 Glasgow University

NB will no doubt be pleased to see that 6 clubs from the old North-East zone of the cup made it to QFs, with only 2 from old South-West zone (although why Cumbernauld Colts were in NE always puzzled me).

Out of left-field - the East Stirlingshire website announces their tie a week on Saturday goes ahead at the Falkirk Stadium. It'll be their first competitive home game in Falkirk for many years.

Sure I've read somewhere that, despite the name, The Falkirk Stadium is technically in Grangemouth.

Whatever, will allow folk to make a quick detour to see the Kelpies.

This is great news. When I first heard about this I thought that the game was going to Grangemouth Stadium.

Hopefully this won't be our only game there. Well done to all concerned
