Valdes was some signing though to be fair to Karanka. Think he's a class goalkeeper. Can't remember who it was against though, (possibly Southampton?) but he made a save in a game two or three weeks back that was world class.

Karanka is a good manager and because of who he is can attract players like Valdes who would otherwise never come to Boro. Valdes (minus the odd shakey moment) is a class act and too good for Boro.

My problem with Karanka is that when he plays for a 0-0 away from home against better teams then fair enough, but if we lose a goal it's as if he doesn't realise we get 0 points unless we score. We've got a really dangerous player in Traore on the bench but he doesn't get on until 81 mins against Southampton which gives him no time to really make an impact, despite the fact we were 1-0 down from 50 mins onwards.

Typical Arsenal - as soon as any halfway decent partner for Koscielny gets injured and/or a team gets a little physical they crumble. It doesn't help that dross like Walcott and Chamberlain stay on for so long or that Ozil had an off day bit still.

The most annoying bit about BT is their lack of memory when commentating. I'm that he first ten minutes, all three in the box said that Barclay was having a poor game, that he wasn't strong enough, that he wasn't looking forward, that he was giving the ball away. One decent attempted pass later and all three were claiming that he was having a good game! It sounds like Ian Darke doesn't really get football (isn't he a boxing commentator or something?) and the pundits in the box and in the studio offer very little insight.
