The East Stirlingshire Thread

Lot of people blaming the players and not the manager. Understand that in a way, but surely these players that are at fault were brought to the club, then coached on a weekly basis and given tactical instruction by the manager? So his fault too?

The best thing ever is that you had to pay £11,000 for a winger from Spartans! Who’s contract expires in the summer!
Shire fans slag Kelty for splashing the cash but they have spent 230k this year and aren’t ever close to going up

Dont forget there will be VAT on top of that.....

How has Nicky Low been for you lot?

Best ‘big signing’ by far, cruises through a lot of games. One downside is he just shoots so unnecessarily all the time, wastes a lot of opportunities by shooting from 30 yards rather than picking a pass that he has the quality to execute.

Definitely our best player, tries like a bear and just wants to play football. He would play in every reserve game too if he could. I'd take 10 like Nicky Low in my team any day.

Don't know why he's never featured in the Lowland League team of the month? Too obvious a choice?

Think he got in the one released today.

Would just like to mention the Colts sub gk, Alex Gilchrist,  today who played a stormer when he came on due an injury to Colts no. 1 Jonny Grier.

Absolutely outstanding from everyone involved. Well done the board and well done Derek Ure. We need to build from this, the Lowland League Cup 2020 is ours!

I saw the Low article where he said he was tempted to go back full time and immediately thought he was hinting at leaving at the end of the season.

Dish was another one, where I thought it was a huge risk financially considering the development fee Shire paid to Spartans.

Class from Shire on resigning them both.

Heard through the Falkirk herald that Spartans want more money because #JD7 signed up for another year?

Mon the Shire

I doubt that can happen after it going to a tribunal. I might be wrong, but don't think there are clauses included in development fees paid to clubs.
