craigiemack
David Grant and his brother (I think) Andy have both signed from Camelon. Apparently Andy is a sweeper which makes you wonder if Connor Greene might be leaving?
come on shire
Hopefully these new signings know how to defend corners or else other LL teams will have a field day. A lot of teams experienced in the LL league so to win the league is a tough ask but we need to aim high coz you never know Edited June 26, 2016 by come on shire
craigiemack
David Grants a striker so wouldn't expect him to be any good at defending corners!
matty0310
Just because we "couldn't defend corners" (we weren't actually that bad) last season, doesn't mean this season will be the same, especially considering we have a new management and a fair few new players coming in. Let it go and move on.
craigiemack
I think attacking corners is more of a problem lol, can't remember the last time we scored a corner. Bring back near post corners for Bolo to flick in at the back post
'Mon The Shire
As long as we can get them past the first man this season I will be happy a tiny bit
craigiemack
Jamie Glasgow returns! Will never forget his winner in the 1-0 victory at Elgin a couple of years ago.
selfassemblyshire
Jamie Glasgow returns! Will never forget his winner in the 1-0 victory at Elgin a couple of years ago. I think you'll find that he'll be 3rd in the pecking order behind Sludden and Grant.
forrie_1
Starting to put a good side side together a lot of players who know the challenge what awaits them and who have played for the club before. Still positions that need to be filled tho

craigiemack
Gavin McMillan resigned for next season, he seems to be a decent enough player although I haven't really seen much of him. He takes us to 12 players signed so probably still another 6 to go I reckon.
cfor56
A quick question for those maybe more informed than me. Why do we sign Sludden and not his fellow Stirling University striker Chris Geddes who scored twice as many goals and seems like the prolific striker we need?
balmoor exile
probably because Sludden's dad is Shire's head coach. Blood is thicker than water

gaz5
Unlikely. He's started his coaching career (he's early 30's now) with one of the Uni's other sides I think. Looks like he's started planning for life after playing and the Uni are supporting that. To be fair, in LL the Uni is as good a place as any to do that given their football programme. Doubt the Shire could offer anything similar.

selfassemblyshire
Is tomorrow's game open to the public ?Unfortunately not, we're quite disappointed by this. Edited July 4, 2016 by selfassemblyshire
craigiemack
This also means that we won't get to see the team play until Stranraer in the League Cup unless we arrange some more friendlies
come on shire
I think we're being realistic and treating the League Cup group and Challenge Cup game as pre-season games.
