Goldson is always prone to prone to the odd mistake but he'll be hard to replace.

We won’t be able to replace him without spending a sizeable sum, in my opinion.

You can find gems (Bassey) and develop them, but to expect us to sign someone that will replace Goldson’s quality, consistency and leadership from the off will be next to impossible I reckon without forking out about £8m/£9m.

He’s averaged around 20 games a season over 9 seasons. He’s very, very prone to injury and in Goldson he’s been brought in to replace a guy that plays 60 games a year and is super fit.

Yes, I can read a bit of a missmatch there when you put it like that ;)

Bittersweet season for us.  A touch of brilliance  and a touch of very ordinary.

Big rebuild needed in the summer so this is when we'll know Gio's mettle as a manager.

Think off the back of a preseason and some time with Makaay and that squad in front of goals, it’ll be all the better.

A closely fought European final and some great nights in Europe, that's this season over and on to a new season.

Probably lose around 4 or 5 players and as Kincardine said this is where we see what Gio is capable of.

I know what the term ‘Scottish cup winners’ means, seen it used for decades now.

Rangers were the champions of the Scottish Cup. You guys were the champions of the league. They're separate competitions buddy.

It's a big swing and a miss.

There wasn't an issue with St Johnstone being Scottish cup champions last season.

Scottish Cup fourth round: Reigning champions St Johnstone stunned by fourth-tier Kelty Hearts as Aberdeen and Hearts coast through

Scottish League Two side Kelty Hearts stunned the Saints thanks to Kallum Higginbotham's goal; there were no other major shocks as Aberdeen and Hearts coasted through; sixth-tier Clydebank's fairytale run ended with a cruel last-gasp defeat in a seven-goal thriller against Annan Athletic
