Premiership Squad Lists 2016/17

Recommended Posts

Same topic I start around this time every year. Vastly different squad from the one that started last season, and I expect there to be another few moving on and coming in as it's still very early days

Goalkeepers

#1: Scott Bain (24) - May 2018.

#12: David Mitchell (26) - May 2017

Defenders

#3: Kevin Holt (23) - May 2018

#5: James McPake (31) - May 2019

#55: Kevin Gomis (27) - May 2017

Midfielders

#4: James Vincent (26) - May 2019

#8: Nicky Low (24) - May 2018

#10: Michael Duffy (21) - (On loan from Celtic for the season)

#11: Danny Williams (28) - May 2019

#14: Mark O'Hara (20) - May 2018

#17: Nick Ross (24) - May 2017

Youths Expected To Complement The Squad

#46: Kyle Gourlay (17) - Goalkeeper.

#25: Sam Dryden (19) - Defender

#27: Jesse Curran (19) - Midfielder

#34: Matty Allan (20) - Defender

#35: Calvin Colquhoun (20) - Midfielder

#24: Andrew Black (20) - Midfielder

#43: Josh Skelly (19) - Striker (On loan at Arbroath)

Left The Club

#22 Arturo Juan Rodríguez Pérez-Reverte (26)

#4: Thomas Konrad (26)

#6: Daryll Meggatt (25)

#19: Paul McGinn (25)

#29: Gary Harkins (31)

#15: Kane Hemmings (25)

#7: Greg Stewart (26)

Few other youth players have left the club as well who you'll see have disappeared from last seasons squad list. Few players such as Andrew Black and Colquhoun are probably a little bit old to be in the youth section, but neither have broken through to the first team as of yet like Kerr and Wighton have - so it's probably a make or break season for Colquhoun and Curran in particular.

Did Fuctifano allow you permission to post that BB? The squad list is his thing so for your sake I hope you have.

I deleted it because Slacker beat me to it. Fuctifano can deal with him.

ETA - are you still posting the Mandron shite?

Updated with our new signing's squad numbers and added a few of our other youth players who've been given a number for the coming season.

Interestingly we've not got a number 2 or 10 for this coming season. Paul McGinn was #19, which Yordi Teijsse has taken. Danny Williams takes Simon Ferry's #11, Mark O'Hara takes Phil Roberts #14 and James Vincent claims Thomas Konrads #4.

I thought O'Hara was a defender, maybe I'm wrong.

He has been primarily (He's played all over the park) but Hartley said when we signed him that he plans on using him primarily in the middle of the park.

Squad seems to have a lot of filler. Even with the managerial nous of Warburton, I can't see that one challenging Celtic at the moment.  What happened to that Polish (?) keeper you had? I expect you lot are in the market for a new one since you seem happy to let Cammy Bell go. I also seen that you lot are looking at Clint Hill, question marks in regards to his age, but he'd be a quality addition I reckon.

Gotomski left by mutual consent in March due to home sickness (I think). I think the current squad would finish 4th, the midfield seems fine and is in my opinion the second best in the country with the additions of Barton, Rossiter and maybe Kranjcar. The defence needs bolstered to challenge definitely, with a new RB (Tavernier should be used on the wings imo) and another CB along with Hill needed (rumours say it will be Nelson from Plymouth). We also need another striker as I personally worry about both Waghorn being a one season wonder as he has never been a goalscorer in his career and the legs of Miller, add that and maybe we could challenge this season but I'd still be expecting us to be battling Aberdeen and Hearts for second spot for at least another year in all honesty. Would have kept Bell if it was my choice but I doubt he wants to stay and sit on a bench, apparently we're looking at GK's David Bentley of Southend and Esteban Alvarado of Trabzonspor.

When he said that I read it as middle of defence rather than right back.
