The game became increasingly tetchy in the second half, and quite surprised that it remained 11 v 11 . 500 there including the usual strong away following. Fair to say that a few of your boys had been on the drink.... Big shout out to the CIty young team, we had drums, singing, a flare, and all 30 of them were roundly marched out of the ground en masse by the stewards after 80 minutes. Expect a note home to your Ma.... The guy went over to them and said “that’s time” or something to that effect, incredibly strange one. Quite enjoyed the game, especially the second half, had a lot of pace to it, Michael Travis was outstanding and was impressed by John Robertson, he hadn’t impressed me in games I’d seen him in before but thought he looked great tonight before he got injured.

I was over at the game didn’t realise that the City young team had actually got thrown out although it seemed strange they were leaving early when the didn’t have school the next day What did they do both sets of young teams got away with throwing flares , they couldn’t have done anything worse. Robertson looked good would probably give him man of the match. It was a decent crowd, seemed more City fans that i’ve seen at other games and an excellent Binos support considering the form they have been in.

tamthebam
can we get a win against bogey team Albion Rovers... well a hoolie is forecast so it'll either be a wind assisted effort or the ref will bottle it and put the game off like at Forfar two weeks ago

RubyTuesday
I was at the game on Friday and one of the laddies set off a flare when City scored. Also a bit of flicking the v's at the Stirling fans. The young team were escorted out of the ground after about 80 minutes. I wasn't at the game last night, but yes certainly a bit of turnaround to get praised by the club on a Tuesday and then banned by Wednesday!
tamthebam
I saw them chucking bog rolls last night (probably their Grandads told them about the 1970s...), looked like they were chucking them at the stewards. Even if it's quite funny chucking "missiles" is enough to get you banned, especially after the pyrotechnics.
Cowdenleith
Pity they’ve been banned, I was going to dust off my pavement dancing shoes next Friday to deal with the young team.

I remember one winter game at Meadowbank when we sent one of the kids down the front to fill a carrier bag with snow. Once we were all armed, we pelted a particular steward with snowballs.

HibeeJibee
Bizarrely enough much the same happened 9yrs ago while they were at Meadowbank. Have the Musselburgh & Portbello Young Team moved to Pilton and raised a new generation? They had problems with a short-lived group of 'EC Ultras' - setting-off flares, smokebombs, firecrackers and so forth - and banning unaccompanied U18s was the pretty stern solution... They smacked about the McDonalds on the other side of the road, and engaged in fighting with rival Gretna 2008 young team the 'Black & White Minstrels'. Burnt/stole/ripped-up their flag. Some of the kids had bought club colours, etc., and were following the team home-and-away bringing some atmosphere and colour. Unfortunately what was a nice thing was spoiled and latterly plenty were clearly just coming along to cause trouble. https://www.deadlinenews.co.uk/2013/04/29/59480/ Police called in to tackle copycat Italian football thugs A FOOTBALL club have been forced to beef up security against thugs who are copying a notorious Italian supporter group. The Edinburgh City Ultras – who follow semi-professional team Edinburgh City – caused mayhem during a bust-up with visiting Gretna fans the Black & White Minstrels. Previously the thugs – who are aged under 18 – have also set off explosives and jumped on McDonald’s tables after matches. They are thought to be modelling themselves on the Juventus Ultras who have wreaked havoc at prestigious European matches. Officials said they had no option but to bring in police in order to return behaviour to “acceptable standards”. Fans under 18 will now also have to be accompanied by an adult. A club insider said: ““EdinburghCity has attracted a lot of teenagers that call themselves the Ultras. “They seem to be basing themselves on the Juventus Ultras because both clubs wear the same colours – black and white.” “It’s just a real shame. We’ve always had a really small support but then some kids aged between about 13 and 18 started coming along to games and the numbers grew. “It’s been two different groups – one from Portobello and one from Musselburgh. The fury erupted after visiting Gretna fans clashed with the home supporters – there were only 106 football fans in total. The teenagers set off explosives at a local match against Lothian as well as causing havoc at a local McDonald’s restaurant when they were jumping on the tables. Another incident occurred when the teenagers refused to leave Meadowbank stadium – the home ground of the Edinburgh club. Fans were reported to have shouted “all cops are b******s” in protest after extra stewards were brought in. The Juventus Ultras – who are thought to be the inspiration behind the Edinburgh gang – are notorious for clashing with match officials around Europe. Around 50 fans of the Italian followers fought with police shortly before they met rivals Liverpool at the Champions League quarter-final second leg in 2005. Fans pelted officers with missiles and a police car was burned. Edited February 17, 2022 by HibeeJibee

Getting banned for letting of a pyro, maybe fair but not after getting into the next game. Flicking the Vs is hardly in the same league as getting chucked off the bridge of doom down Easter Road

Forfar ultras seem to be good wee laddies- Fat Bob, Wee Eck, Soapy Souter and Oor Wullie Stirling had a bit of bother with theirs at the match at Ochilview but they seem ok- there was a bit of mutual slagging last Friday with our guys. Kelty lads are good for banter, potential to be wild I suppose but they're all right. Stranraer had a meeting with their lads and put them in the wee stand when they played us at Stair Park a couple of weeks ago. There was a rumour some of our lads had been chucked out of Easter Road for being wee bams. Forfar ultras and Jacob Rees-Mogg cheer a Forfar goal
