GordonD Posted June 18, 2022 Share Posted June 18, 2022 The reason I was asking about the contracts is that I remember reading - some years after the fact - that when Ferranti Thistle were in the process of changing their name, they found it hard to sign players because the name of the club was left blank on the contracts so it could be filled in later, which made some people reluctant to sign. Which may be understandable. Of course a blank space isn't the same thing as a change of name. Not really surprising that the players wouldn't sign - committing themselves to work for an entity that wasn't defined. I'm assuming Ainslie Park isn't suitable as I'm sure I read there's still 3 teams playing there from next year? Also, is there any statement expected from the social club regarding all this? Wonder what the future holds for Edinburgh City FC. There is of course a slight chance that FC Edinburgh go back to that. If not though, would they look to re-launch a club in the EoS? Whitehill was the colliery and the brickworks in the village and you're right the Welfare was the miners Welfare club. Anyways FC Edinburgh wtf ! When he got himself fit after initial shaky spell he was actually one of our most consistent players.
