Another SNPbad smear fails

While we STILL wait on any charges being brought to Natalie McGarry or Michelle Thomson, an attempt to discredit Hosie and MacNeill by Jackson Carlaw fails.  Unionists still not enjoying the journey, it would seem..

Westminster's parliamentary standards commissioner will not investigate the expenses of two SNP MPs.

Commissioner Kathryn Hudson was asked to investigate Angus MacNeill and Stewart Hosie by the Scottish Conservative deputy leader Jackson Carlaw.

It was reported the MPs had claimed for accommodation in London on the public purse while conducting separate affairs with a political journalist.

The commissioner has judged there is no significant evidence the rules were broken by the pair.

The SNP said the move to write to the commissioner by Carlaw was a "political stunt".

A party spokesman said: "It was a political stunt and a hypocritical move given the long and proven history of Tory MPs abusing the expenses system, as well as the current police investigations into the Tory party for election fraud.

"Jackson Carlaw would do better to ensure his own party is acting in line with parliamentary rules rather than playing politics with people's private lives."

The Scottish Conservatives said they "respect the decision" not to investigate the matter.

A spokesman for the party said: "We respect the decision of the standards commissioner.

"Our view is it is right to question such cases to ensure that public funds are always used in support of parliamentary duties."

The Westminster expenses watchdog the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is yet to declare if it will investigate the MPs following a similar complaint by a Labour MP.

Since the affair was made public Stewart Hosie has announced his intention to stand down as SNP deputy leader at the party's Autumn conference.

It's been hilarious how much coverage this has had, when all it boils down to is 'Politicians have private lives, receive expenses for accommodation in line with guidance'.

Meanwhile, outside of the SNPbad bubble, 19 police forces are investigating possible election fraud by 28 conservative MPs.

And the secretary for culture media and sport fucking a dominatrix story was suppressed by the press while he decided which elements of Levenson to enact and West Ham utd were donating to the conservatives while getting a brand spanking new stadium for free.

Politicians, in all parties, who cheat on their wives and husbands should not be trusted by the voters.

Pish, just because you've pumped a wee dirty, it doesn't necessarily mean that your conduct at work should be put into question.

The whittingdale story wasn't even close to being in the public interest, given that he's unmarried.

Sure, paying for sex *allegedly* or having a relationship with a sex worker and having murdoch/mirror group offer to publish or not publish depending on what parts of Levenson they enact, absolutely no interest there.

Personally, in principal, I agree with you but if Hosie's hosing about is published then so should this and if Furnishes furnishing is published then we should get to know if a cabinet member has put himself in a position of being compromised. Which he was, and is.

Of course it was, if his influence in the Leveson inquiry hinged upon the Headlines by national papers!

knowing that a single man pumped someone isn't in the public interest. His position on leveson is therefore irrelevant.

A single man in a position of power in the party that traditionally espouses "Family Values".  Aye it is.

What if his position on Leverson was influenced by the potential threat of having his private life splashed across the front pages of the national press?

Still irrelevant?
