Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

Recommended Posts

3 Goals for Sutton before moving on to do a bit better at Hartlepool. Seems to be a fairly sideways move.

I was at a Sutton game earlier this season and their attacking play was dire. They had a winger play well for 20 mins but their striker touched it about twice all game.

If he left them because he wasn't good enough it doesn't bode well, notwithstanding a flashy video.

Another one of Siberski's recommendations to TW?

He screams like one of those players that we have trialing with us for most of preseason. Does alright in a friendly or two but ends up not signing.

I'm still salty that we didn't sign Romain Habran to be honest.

Nisbet is an obvious one, but again it would be a fair risk as (see Kane) guys that do well in the Championship don't always work out at Prem level.

Not sure anyone can seriously put how well Chris Kane done in the championship, to how well Nisbet has done  tbf.

How?

Nisbet this season as 22yo - Goal every 110 minutes

Kane at 19yo for Dumbarton - Goal every 123 minutes

Kane also had more assists in less games.

So why is Nisbet apparently a better prospect than Kane was?

Nisbet will be going on to bigger things than St Johnstone in all honesty. Don't think you could afford him anyway. 18 months left on his deal.

I've watched Chris Kane a few times in the championship and the guy is nowhere near Nisbet's quality.

You do appreciate the difference between 'can afford' and 'choose to buy'? The fact that we can afford players but never actually use that to our advantage is a perennial moan from Saints fans, but it keeps us solvent.

As for the rest, only time will tell. Genuinely wish the lad well and a move to a higher division is the only way to find out if he's a flat track bully or a real prospect. Would be interested to know where you think these bigger league clubs are that are likely to give a Scottish Championshp striker a run of starts?

Don't know about a run of starts but quite a few have moved to the English leagues from the Scottish championship over the years.
