Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

Between who?

We're destined for bottom place.

Watching Ross County v Hibs and its sinking in how simple football can be, and how complicated we've made it. Their second goal is from a winger running at a defender, beating him, and cutting the ball in for a striker standing in the middle of the box.

We have centre backs 30 yards from goal trying to thread balls into strikers 20 yards from goal, and zero threat out wide.

Hamilton will finish bottom.

If you were feeling particularly like stirring the pot, you'd direct people to The Courier where the manager has effectively confirmed he picks Kane ahead of Melamed because Kane runs about a lot.

Be interesting to see what Davidson does formation wise for the Ross County game. Assuming Tanser isn't back and Kerr is self isolating, a back 4 is the easiest option. Otherwise its MOH at wing back or throwing Brown straight in.

Taking the Melamed comments at face value is even more frustrating. If he's got "qualities" then 5 minutes at the end of games isn't going to get him up to speed. There's always the chance that Davidson doesn't rate him and the comments are more a token effort at keeping a player he's stuck with relatively interested but Davidson doesn't strike me as that type.

Agree with comments elsewhere though that yesterday in isolation wasn't that bad.

Think you’re right. Pretty sad to see what he’s become since he was banned from the forum. Posting angry tweets on a daily basis to his 68 followers. Pare c**t.

What was he banned for? I always found him funny, if a bit ‘close to the bone’ at times.

The bit about the voluntary pay reduction is ridiculous. Whilst its admirable somebody has offered to do it they should have been told thanks but we will continue to pay the already shite wage we give you.

It's not a great look for a club who apparently treated staff dreadfully this Summer.

Non issue tbh.

Being so tight we failed to pay 28 staff even the minimum wage then following it up with a statement basically claiming they didn't do anything wrong but couldn't prove otherwise is an issue tbh.

Hardly surprising though.

Edited by Mr Positive, sometimes.

Particularly when the investigation was for a period between 2016-2018...

Robinson just resigned at Motherwell.  It's all hotting up down this end of the table.

Tommy Wright a contender?

Hopefully they hire their experienced, former player, assistant...

TW going there would be a blow in terms of the battle at the bottom. I thought Motherwell would be safe but it's generally struggling teams who swap managers at this time of year who find themselves plummeting.

Wrong manager, bad window, and they'll be in a really bad place.

Hopefully they'll go all hipster and appoint the next Ian Cathro (although we may have already done that). Tommy Wright in a brand management meeting for one of his new signings would be some laugh.

I get what RG is saying about one bad appointment, but on the other hand if they get it right you feel that's a squad that should be fine.

I watched thehighlights of their match with Utd a week or two back and they battered them.  Utd sneaked an injury time equaliser out of nowhere, but thought Well looked very good.

Have to say, it feels like a bit of a soap opera down this end of the table.  Never a dull moment.  If there was a guarantee we'd get out of it okay, I'd sit back and enjoy the ride.

3rd bottom and win a cup would be a great season!
