If we finish in the bottom two surely the owner will react? This shite just can't go on.

It's a game of opinions, but there's absolutely no way that St Johnstone are finishing in the bottom two.

Dundee United, Ross County (who were beating us until they got a man sent off), and Motherwell (in the middle of a horrendous, manager sacking, run of form) are the only teams we've beaten since we beat Rangers on the 6th of November.

I agree we wont finish bottom two, as we already have enough points on board, but we've every capability of losing to County next weekend which puts them within 5 of us with a similar goal difference and another meeting to come.

We're incredibly lucky VAR missed a blatant handball v Killie tbh.

Guy on WAP says that Considine was sent off twice in his whole 3000 games for Aberdeen. And two already with us now.

Watch teams target him with pace now.

TBF, teams have targeted him with pace for years. He's a solid defender and will do a job if you don't play with a high line.

He'd have struggled badly under Glass and Goodwin.

He has been very good for Saints. Fair play for coming back from the injury at 35. He's in with a shout of Saints POTY.

As someone who has been critical of the managers signings (Including the 2 year deal for Mr Considine) and rightfully so as quite a few of his signings have been a disaster this season, Considine hasn't been one to be critical of (although time will tell whether the 2 year deal was a step to far). A rest may do him good though as he's played basically every minute he's been fit for.

Although, you can keep McLennan, f**k me 🤢

Considine hasnt recovered from the injury that kept him out v Hearts IMO, which isnt helping him.

Hes been a good signing, but i still dont think he was worth a 2yr deal as a starter and im still relatively convinced hes going to crash either fairly soon, or over the Summer, and just be finished as a top flight CB.

Ideally we sign a first choice LCB this Summer to replace him.

We've seen with Ando and Wright just how quickly a player can regress or their legs go entirely. Some of these deals handed out have been madness.

There's very few of this team I'd miss if they all were allowed to go.

7th May for POTY. Can't wait.

Surely a straight shoot out between Drey Wright and Stevie May?

Probably. Nobody else really.

Phillips was my only other thought but surely hasnt played enough to outdo the other two?

Not really you'd think.

For actual impact it should probably be Wright but for nostalgia, May.

Interesting when players get to the stage of their career Considine is at managers speak of having to manage them and their game time - whereas we’ve played him in virtually every minute he’s been available.

Davidson is no ordinary manager. Don’t say “we’ve played him” - Davidson has played him. Davidson has chosen to play him in virtually every minute he’s been available. And remember that we were magnificent yesterday.

I half wonder if he projects himself onto players, if that makes sense?

Like he was a super professional by all accounts and seemed to be in great shape even by the end of his career. Sure he played 20+ games for us at 35/36 before retiring, and im sure he was still playing well too.

Does he expect every player to be able to match that? So him giving players deals to 34/35 is logical to him as he expects them to still be capable at that age?

Likely a lot of bollocks but might help explain some logic in his transfer business.

I would imagine Davidson probably looks at the 'type' of player and whether they look after themselves before contributing his opinion on what length to offer. If someone like Considine has the right off field attitude and looks after themselves, then he is probably more inclined to give a longer deal. Whereas Leigh Griffiths is the example of how not to look after yourself.

Remember, Considine is only here as he was looking for more than a single year deal, so to get him, we probably had to offer more. Crawford will always remain a puzzle unless it transpires another club offered him longer than one we initially offered him and we just matched it.

Problem we have now is that almost all of them haven't hit the expected levels and while Considine probably has, you can see his slowing up as the season goes on. You can probably get by with 1-2 aging players, but we have 4-5 and when they all drop off.....

Yeah it does make sense and think it’s fair enough. It could well be the case he’s burnt out by playing so frequently this season but like you say, the injury prior to Hearts makes that hard to judge.
