Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

Recommended Posts

Do you know there's a St Johnstone Banter page on Facebook - this is right up their street and I'd imagine they'd love to see your suggestions.

These clips are wasted on us P&B fools. Thanks for all your insight and don't be a stranger.

Cheers

I can’t remember him at all at Hibernian. Turns 31 in April. Not so keen on this

Very much feels like a back up if the Deas deal doesn’t come good,

20 games in the Norwegian top flight during their season, theres almost no chance hes not an upgrade on Muller/Dendoncker/Ambrose, and probably Brown, as back up. If hes better than that then we could even see him start with Cleary at LCB if they want McCart out the side.

Defence rebuilt in this window and it looks like they've set the wheels in motion for Deas replacing McCart in the Summer. Big looming issues at that end are now just Clark and Rooney, but thats a job for the Summer maybe.

If only the Summer window had this sort of drive behind it.

Just now, Dick Van Dyke said:

Really?!?

They've completed about 5 deals in the first 2 weeks.

Gallacher and Cleary will be upgrades on Devine/Muller/Dendoncker/Ambrose without a doubt. Thats 2 players in peak age who'll improve the first team, on long deals. Imagine who we could've got in the Summer, a far better window, if they'd targeted these types then instead of just chucking temporary deals around.

I see what you’re saying to an extent but pissing about with “daft” offers for Rudden can’t really be described drive, the summer window was so bad that literally anything half decent would seem amazing. It’s all irrelevant anyway because the managers arrogance will take us down.

How do you know it’s a daft offer? Clubs aren’t daft and know we’re desperate. We’re going to be paying more than we should be because, as alluded to earlier we fucked about in the summer.

Just going from Ian McCalls comments saying the 2 offers we’ve made were daft

Yeah, we've chucked in a £150k offer for Deas, do you really think they're offering peanuts for Rudden?

Ian McCall is a fanny and I wouldn't believe a single word he says.

Why do some people right players off at 30 ?

Genuine question as its relatively young now

Of course McCall's going to say that, he's trying to bump up the interest and therefore price for Rudden. He's done it well, as apparently there are a number of clubs interested now. Even if we'd offered something ridiculous like £500k they'd have knocked it back with the mindset "how far can we push this".

Rotherham wouldn't go beyond £150,000 for Shaun Rooney in the summer, who still had a year left on his contract and was a standout in the top league and national cup competitions. Rudden only has 5 months left on his contract, and has never played a single match in the top league. He's 4 years younger but in completely unproven. How much do you realistically think we should offer for him?
