Dundee United, Hibs, Killie, Livingston, Motherwell, Rangers, Ross County and St Mirren were also denied the opportunity to play a weakened Aberdeen side through no fault of their own.

You're not dense enough to not see the difference.

They either postpone every Aberdeen game within a 10 or 14 day period, or they let them all go ahead. Its only our game against them thats been singled out (so far), so we've been actively denied a benefit others have not been.

The "benefit" you were going to get was purely down to the luck of the fixture list. I'm going to assume that maybe the Scottish government know better than you what their own rules for footballers and postponing matches are.

And?

We've still actively been denied something other clubs in the same situation have not, through the choice of those outwith football.

I think fairness is going to go out the window this season if they are determined to get to May. Fans will have to come round to accepting that. Folk will get upset because the pressures in the fixture calendar potentially means a lack of consistency in how teams will be handled but it's the price we'll pay for a wanting a full season starting in August.

A bit more clarity about why we can't play today but Aberdeen can on Wednesday would be helpful and hopefully it'll be explained today but I still wouldn't be expecting any "rules" to be applied evenly. It could be as simple as the FM wanting to send out a message, that's her prerogative.

Saints can't get too caught up in all this though. We are already playing catch up after sitting out the first weekend of friendlies, losing the St Mirren game and then today's match.

You can look at Wednesday's game in two ways, we've had little preparation for one of the toughest fixtures but equally, we aren't having to play a game where points are more attainable off the back of these circumstances.

Its quite clearly a PR stunt due to Aberdeen itself being in lockdown. She already had absolute freaks hounding her on twitter demanding the game was off because they weren't allowed to their local McDonald's.

I'd be surprised if its repeated and clubs aren't just forced to play without isolated players, you know, like Aberdeen will be just days after our game has been postponed.

We now start with 3 away games and then meet a full strength Aberdeen side straight after. Be surprised if anyone else has been that "unlucky".

Also, whoscored are now showing heat maps etc., for Saints games. Interested to see how we look in different set ups.

Hard to tell due to going down to 10, but we really struggled to do anything around Uniteds box last weekend.

Most of the play down the right hand side, but nothing through the middle.

Backed up by showing where passes were attempted from...

Wish there was data from last season to compare this too though, for all I know thats how St Johnstone always look in these.

Yellow is "peak years", blue line is contract length.

Vertical line is how many minutes they played last season, horizontal their age. Will try and work out how to split it by position, but seems a decent mix of player there (Rooney/Conway would go either side of "the peak".

Gordon and Tanser should both be getting new deals, both entering their peak and both play over 50% of their minutes. Kane doesn't play enough but as a 3rd choice option entering his peak do you chuck him a cheap deal?

Central nidfield a worry though, only McCann isn't on the downwards slope.

All this with the caveat a new manager has come in and things might change in terms of minutes. Probably worth looking at it in January.

You don't need heat maps to tell you that was nowhere near good enough or anything remotely like we played last season, certainly second part of the season.

I was told today that seat covers as seen down south were installed in the corners of the stands yesterday afternoon by the same people that did old Trafford.  Has anyone passed McDiarmid today to confirm ?

If so good advertising revenue for the club.

Wonder if we got any slogans "Neil McCann is a ###t -Sir Tommy Wright" would go down well.

Looking back, it's annoying that Sportscene totally cut out the start of the move that lead to our goal last week. How good is this to open the ball up for Kerr to push on? If McNamara had found Craig directly, it may have been the best goal scored since 1998 IMO.

Seven of our nine outfield players involved in the move. Beautiful. Thought McCann had a quiet game but showed his class when it mattered here.

What that clip shows as well, is how good McCart is on the ball from the left. He’s pinging first time passes into McCann that is it was say an Anderson, Wright or Shaughnessy we’d all be having kittens. I think we’ve got to realise that teams will know how good McCann is, it’s testament to himself that teams might try and match up and mark him. By still showing quality and getting involved which he definitely did in the second half, it’ll just add yet more strength to his game.
