Saints goalkeeper signing adjacent, were folk having me on when they said the boy who runs the Cherrybank is your GK coach?

For our youth sides.

He'd probably be better than our actual GK coach. It's currently Paul Mathers.

He's an ex professional footballer.

Not first team like others have said though. Youth kids on a voluntary basis.

Walker looked fine, but surely it's a worry that a guy deemed not good enough to start in the Championship last season (albeit behind an excellent first choice) is going to come in to be your number 1 in the top flight.

Yip, pretty concerning. Given we have the Scotland u21 keeper in the squad too, it either indicates Walker and Sinclair will battle it out for number 1 or Sinclair is going on loan someplace and Walker would be number 1 and Parrish backup.

I think it probably highlights where Saints recruitment is at the moment and a fair indication of the relegation fight we expect to be in before a ball is kicked in anger.

George is the kind of player we SHOULD be signing.

Every single signing under this management team is a massive worry.

It's fairly clear that Sinclair is not in contention. Davidson isn't even considering it.

If he was he would have received some minutes on Saturday.

He'll end up out on loan.

Doesn't seem to have had a consistent run of games over a season since 2017/18 - only played 30 games since then.

For comparison, Parish has played 26. This guy might be good but has failed to get into the teams of English league one sides and a Scottish Championship side over the last few years, so would say that I'm worried about this since he'll be the undisputed number one with 'El Paz' as his main competition.

Yep. Big worry. Not sure what Davidson is thinking here to be honest, he’s known since at least January, probably before, that we needed a first choice goalkeeper this summer. I really hope they’ve not been waiting on Zander for this long and then just panicking with what’s left.

So underwhelming.

Tomorrow will confirm that one way or the other. If Sinclair starts (he won't) then he'll stay. If not, then yes, 100% he is going in loan.

So you have to think the starting line up to start the league season will be (assuming everyone is fit)

Walker

Cleary Gordon Considine

Wright Davidson Hallberg Montgomery

Carey May Murphy

Bair, Mahon, McPherson, Crawford probably the ones most likely to break into that

Kane, Wotherspoon Gallacher/Booth likely return to the team when fit.

I wonder if people still think the head of recruitment was the problem.

He's going out on loan.

That's us, apparently, done now for signings.

Clark replaced by Kilmarnocks 2nd choice who hasn't played regularly for 5 years.

McCart replaced by a 35yo who hasn't played in 12 months after blowing his knee apart.

Rooney replaced by Drey Wright, who wasn't great at wing back in a stronger team and who completely failed there at Hibs.

While Hendry hasn't even been attempted to be replaced as the manager has already decided what formation we're playing this season before seeing half the squad play together.

All that when we finished 11th last season and those 4 were our key players.

Yet anyone who's negative about the season, and questioning the signing policy and quality, gets hounded by a section of the support because they apparently only have negative thoughts because they "hate" the manager.

Their current keeper played second fiddle to Jack Hamilton

Tbf, nobody knew Hemming would be as good as he is when we signed him on loan so no shame in Walker not being 1st choice.

For what it's worth, he's done very little wrong when he did started for Killie.

Why did Killie want to sign another goalkeeper in Hemming though?
