Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

I'd like Steve Brown to make a bit of a fuss in the press about the refereeing decisions against us. It won't achieve anything obviously, but by drawing attention to it you hope refs think twice about giving these weak penalty shouts against us.

It worked for that Celtic director talking about Nick Walsh in the build up to our league cup semi final against them a few months back, so might as well try something. We need every edge we can get right now.

Clark, Booth, Hallberg and Hendry all doubts for Saturday 😂

Clark

Rooney - Booth

MOH - Hallberg - Bryson - MacPherson - Wotherspoon

Hendry - Ciftci - Kane

Thats our injury list by position. Mental.

There has to be something wrong with the training - this can't just be bad luck surely

If Clark is out for a while then I'm questioning Davidson on that one. Fair enough he said he wanted to carry on, see how he was, but shortly afterwards, think it was Ferguson had a shot low down by the post that Clark turned away. He then got up like a 90 year old out a chair, it was so obvious he was struggling.

Decisions like keeping him on until he was a bit more fucked, and starting Cifti 3 times in a week when he'd hardly played for months are obviously made out of desperation, but you have to keep a sensible head on.

Read elsewhere that all 4 players subbed off with Calf injuries

how can  so many players have injuries to calfs in one Game?

And your looking at what 4 or 5 Games out

you couldn't make it up

You could, there's something wrong behind the scenes if so many players are picking up muscle injuries.

Clark

Rooney/MOH Bryson Hallberg Booth

Wotherspoon

Kane/Ciftci Hendry

Chuck the injured guys in with our three starting centre backs and I quite fancy that team to finish mid table. Incredible.

Like what?

You've been around football long enough to know, or at least you should know, how and why muscle injuries happen. The odd one could be unlucky, what we have at Saints is that most of the first team have been out at various times with pulls and tears, that's not unlucky.

At the moment I feel like our only real hope now is to somehow keep pace with Dundee between now and the split and hope that most/all of the injured players bar Wotherspoon come back fit and ready by the end of March.

Yes, one our best hope for survival could be injuries to Adam and McGinn at Dundee. Not wishing anything serious on them, but 3 months out each should about cover it.

Hallberg is the spirit crushing one. His presence has changed our whole team dynamic when featured.

Is surely isn't that surprising though? Like he's spent the past year out with an injury so expecting him to come in and play 10+ games back to back was surely unrealistic?

Just another fact to highlight the poor transfer business of all involved.

Maybe. Think that's the area we really could have done with another decent signing in (even before MacPherson and Hallberg's injuries). We have such a lack of mobility in that part of the pitch. Craig being used last night just highlights this - doesn't say much for Davidsons opinion on Gilmour either.
