Posted January 15, 2022 Share Posted January 15, 2022 20 games in the Norwegian top flight during their season, theres almost no chance hes not an upgrade on Muller/Dendoncker/Ambrose, and probably Brown, as back up. If hes better than that then we could even see him start with Cleary at LCB if they want McCart out the side. Defence rebuilt in this window and it looks like they've set the wheels in motion for Deas replacing McCart in the Summer. Big looming issues at that end are now just Clark and Rooney, but thats a job for the Summer maybe. I see what you’re saying to an extent but pissing about with “daft” offers for Rudden can’t really be described drive, the summer window was so bad that literally anything half decent would seem amazing. He's done it well, as apparently there are a number of clubs interested now. Even if we'd offered something ridiculous like £500k they'd have knocked it back with the mindset "how far can we push this". Rotherham wouldn't go beyond £150,000 for Shaun Rooney in the summer, who still had a year left on his contract and was a standout in the top league and national cup competitions. Rudden only has 5 months left on his contract, and has never played a single match in the top league. He's 4 years younger but in completely unproven.
