BANKIEBILL
Rutherglen well worth their win last night - but what an idiot the Maryhill player who got sent off was. The Ruggie no 4 had just been sent off and Maryhill got one back and then the Hill player just went a kicked a Glens player whilst on the deck. Nuts. Rutherglen looked well on top after that. A big one for them on Saturday - they really need to win both games and that would put Meadow right out of it if they do I think. Shettleston seem determined to stay in the 1st for another season with another poor result. Kilsyth struggling with the number of games - which as already pointed out is not fair. Girvan yet to have to go through the 4 games a week malarkey and they have a big one against Kilsyth on Saturday. Peasey win was a biggie - and they can put us out the picture with a performance on Saturday. it's a great end to the season and big hats off to the players of all clubs who step up to the mark

I was quite concerned at 2-1 up playing with 10 men, as it looked like the momentum was going against us at that stage. Then the straight red card for Maryhill changed everything. The boy even had the audacity to complain as he walked off the park, but his manager told him where to go, "You volleyed him, you've killed our game" the manager was heard to shout at his player as he trudged past the dugout. A couple of minutes later we made it 3-1 and the points were never really in doubt after that.

True - they did look a bit worn out but they still have more to play than anyone. Girvan need to play midweek fixtures or the only teams left with games will be who they ( and Maryhill for a while ) still have to play. I know its difficult - either for them to travel or their opponents but to get to this situation is ridiculous

Krfc 10
Surely all the Girvan players are not from Girvan, commitee and supporters yes, so is distance a problem?
Jaydee
Another potential problem you could have is if say Glencairn finish their games a couple of weeks in advance of Girvan and then end up having to come back in for a playoff match that puts them (or whoever) at an unfair disadvantage. This is what happened to Sauchie last season although it was more that they were ahead of everyone rather than someone being behind.
glensmad
Girvan will have to play midweek matches, no question about it. After this Saturday they will have six league matches still to play, and they're also still in the Ayrshire Cup. So, after Saturday, if all of Girvan's games are scheduled for Saturdays, that would take them up to the 17th June, which is the date of the AGM by which all games must be finished. Bearing in mind that Girvan could be in the Evening Times Cup as league winners or the play-offs as 3rd place, and their results will also affect the outcome of other teams' positions, they simply have to play midweek games. There is no alternative, no matter the distance they have to travel or teams have to travel to them.

Assuming Glencairn have a game a week on Saturday that is your season finished. If Girvan have a game that Saturday they will still have 5 games to play (at least 2 weeks of fixtures) and their last fixture COULD determine if Glens are in a play off, so 2 weeks (again, at least) without a competitive match to then try and get back upto 100% for a 2 legged play off isn't fair on Glens. That is the point I'm trying to make [emoji1360]

That is the point I'm trying to make I'm not disagreeing, however we are hopeful our involvement in the Central League Cup will continue after our tie v Shettleston next Wednesday night and that would keep us ticking over till we play Cumbernauld.
