FifeArab
Watched the Benavidez v Plant fight this morning. Tremendous fight. Benavidez v Canelo in the autumn please.

He’ll have learned more from that fight than all his others.
kiddy
Okolie’s move to Sugarhill, from the McGuigans could well be a mistake.

Benavidez Plant was an excellent fight. It’s a shame that boxing fans are so starved of genuine 50/50 matchups with two guys operating at a high level that a fight like that is seen as an outlier. I can’t remember a time for a good few years where I’ve been as ambivalent towards the upcoming fights. Tank v Garcia should be good, but that’s another fight that should have happened 2 years ago. Josh Taylor v Teofimo Lopez is another I’m looking forward to but I don’t think that’s even been confirmed. Canelo v Ryder, Joshua v Franklin? I wouldn’t pay much attention to either of those fights if they were happening in my front garden.
ICTChris
Ken Buchanan confirmed as having died. He was 77. Probably the best Scottish boxer of the modern era. A legend.
JMDPco
Yeah, really sad news about Buchanan. Interesting article in the guardian today. McRae is the best living boxing writer IMO and absolutely eviscerates Hearn here: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2023/apr/01/eddie-hearn-conor-benn-and-the-poison-at-the-heart-of-british-boxing

A legend. Not a boxing fan but, being of an age when I saw Ken B on telly winning his first world title fight, I have no problem in saying the man was a legend. He put Scottish boxing on the map for those of us born in the late 50s. I was brought up in a world of black-and-grey telly and black-and-grey newspapers. Seeing, - many years later - a rerun of Buchanan vs Duran and noticing the wee man wearing Buchanan tartan shorts was a big WTF moment, RIP Ken. You brought some colour into our grey lives.

Ludo*1
Franklin's record seems decent, but I take it he's just fodder for AJ to make his comeback? Don't know much about him.

Bairnardo
AJ isn't getting this all his own way here. If this boy has a decent tank on him, we could see AJ begin to struggle
MONKMAN
Hopefully AJ will gas out in the later rounds, with the weight he’s carrying.
Ludo*1
This is pretty one sided tbf. Only hope for Franklin at this stage is a big punch or Joshua tires. Both of which are very possible but I'd give most rounds, if not all, to Joshua so far.
Donathan
I make it 4-2 in Joshua’s favour but not all one way traffic by any means
Ludo*1
Tony Bellew has it as all 7 rounds to Joshua. I'd maybe shade 1 to Franklin but even accounting for Bellew's obviously bias, it's hard to disagree IMO.
