Neilly
Not read or heard anyone saying Smith won that fight apart from his brother and Bellend.
Super_A
Maybe need a bit of perspective on Smiths last few fights after that. Looked ok against a Euro Level fighter in Skoglund, looked shite against a late replacement Muay Thai fighter in Holzken, beat Groves who was coming off a dislocated shoulder and clearly not 100% and then battered a past his best (which wasn't that good anyway) career middleweight in N'dam. Even before the Super Series he was mandatory for the WBC for about 2 years and never fought 1 good fighter in that time and his best win before that is either Fielding or Rebrasse who Euro level at best.

I tend to think Groves heart wasn't really in it following the Chudinov fight.

He definitely wasn't the same after the 2nd Froch fight and the Jack fight as he was pre-Froch and that was before the shoulder went.

He's waiting for Ortiz to slow down so his right hand will finally land.

Ortiz left is his back hand, if Wilder cant jab without being countered by an Ortiz left hook hes aswell rapping it. Utterly lacklustre. -

Bairnardo
Gutted for Ortiz there. An absolute lesson until then, but thats what Wilder has. We all know he can be outboxed if you are brave enough but that power is unlike anything anyone has face until they face him. Truly sad for Ortiz though he looked devastated. NOOOOOOOOOO THE RIGHT HAND OUT OF NOWHERE -
caleyjaggi
Wilder must be up there as hardest hitter of all time. He’s got a good chin too so can basically deliver a bomb at any point, regardless of boxing performance and win. Wouldn’t bet against him unifying the titles. Cant see Joshua or Ruiz living with him. Can Fury stay switched on for the entire fight and avoid the right hand? Probably not.

I think there is an argument for Wilder as the hardest hitter there has ever been aye. -
Neilly
Barmy really that power. The look on the face of Ortiz when he went down summed it up. Wilder must be among the worst boxers to ever be a world champion but that power is just ridiculous and over a twelve round fight he a going to land once and that's all that's required. Ortiz won every second of every round until that obviously.
FifeArab
Unlucky for Ortiz he was ahead and boxed well but that’s all Wilder needs Is that 1 second.
Shandon Par
Can’t stop watching the last minute of that 7th round. The commentators are getting animated about Ortiz but Wilder is so calm and his eyes never leave Ortiz, like Ortiz’s punches are just delaying the inevitable. Then the footwork from Wilder in the final moments that puts Ortiz in the firing line and gives Wilder that momentum from his weight shifting back then forth.

There’s no question that Wilder’s unorthodox. His technique is often questionable, and his footwork can sometimes be clumsy, but he’s a far better boxer than he’s given credit for, especially in the way he sets traps for his opponent to entice them in. When they do come in, and they invariably always do, the result is inevitable. The way he manoeuvred Ortiz to the ropes with his little pawing jab and footwork was excellent, and he does it regularly. Then it’s time for the right hand. That fucking right hand. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. In spite of the praise above, he lost every minute of every round until that fucking atom bomb landed. There has surely never been a bigger puncher in human history, let alone boxing. It’s indescribable, terrifying power. Can only see Usyk or Fury coming anywhere close to beating him. He’ll knock everyone else out.Remember when he broke that mascots jaw with a short right hook through a padded mask? Merkie84
I literally blinked and missed it. One second Ortiz was dominating, the next he was on the deck. I didn’t even see the punch. crazy stuff. Feel for Ortiz, he fought the perfect fight up until then.
