taurus
Got cut and is Sexton chewing gum ?
NorthernJambo
I thought that (about the gum) as well! Looks like it. Must be quite the task with the gym shield. Cornish could really do with putting something behind his jab.

taurus
Think Cornish behind after 8
NorthernJambo
Definitely imo. Not been scoring but Sexton definitely the better
The Chlamydia Kid
Cornish needs to stand tall instead of bringing his head down to sextons level repeatedly.
NorthernJambo
If he had a jab it’d probably help
The Chlamydia Kid
Sexton’s hands are just sharper so he’s able to counter Cornish’s jab and make him reticent to let his hands go. He’s hardly used the right because he can’t land a jab.
The Chlamydia Kid
He’s got the power to hurt sexton he should have went for it a few rounds ago and threw more punches.
taurus
Last round Cornish needs a ko
NorthernJambo
He was trying to throw the jab in the first few but nothing behind it. Sexton has been a lot sharper. Had a spell where he couldn’t miss win overhand rights.
NorthernJambo
Enjoyable last round. Sexton should get the decision though.
The Chlamydia Kid
He’s got the power to hurt sexton he should have went for it a few rounds ago and threw more punches. Finally went for it in the last half of the last round. If he’d done that maybe from round 9 or 10 he’d maybe have been in with a better shout.
taurus
Cornish thinks he's won
NorthernJambo
Fair play to Sexton. Better man in the night. As you (TCK) say, if Cornish stepped on the gas a bit earlier he may well have taken a few more rounds and it would have been very close.
The Chlamydia Kid
Might have forced the stoppage as he clearly had the power to trouble Sexton but he was worried about what was coming back.
NorthernJambo
Think he struggles with fitness as well. They were pointing out a lot in commentary he was starting well then fading in rounds. Maybe didn’t want to hit the gas early fearing he’d empty the tank
The Chlamydia Kid
Aye sounds about right. He was deffo out on his feet. It’s amazing the energy you can find though when you get someone in bother and it’s easier to fight at your own pace than one dictated by someone else.
NorthernJambo
Very true. Only done a wee bit sparring with pals when they’ve been training but when you can see your work is paying off it gets a lot easier to up your output. Hopefully get a better result from Simmons.
NorthernJambo
First round suggests this should be fairly routine for Simmons. Long way to go though.
