kiddy
Both Povetkins samples from 27th April tested positive, the sample taken on May 16 was negative. That's ok then, no need to ban him for 2 years. He was caught, ban him.
MONKMAN
That's ok then, no need to ban him for 2 years. He was caught, ban him. His promoter is basically trying to justify it saying he's not a cheat and that he stopped taking the substance as soon as it came on to the banned list. Says he's suing Al Haymon, Wilder and Dan Rafael for some reason.

MONKMAN
He passed 3 test between 1st of January and 27th of April. Failed the one on 27th then passed again in May. Clearly up to no good and been caught.
The Chlamydia Kid
Just a shame Price doesn't have the jaw to go anywhere. It's his jab not the chin that's his problem. I said years ago that he would never ever do anything in boxing. He couldn't keep a fat journeyman like McDermott off him during the brief period they fought. He managed to knock him out but if you can't keep a plodder like that off you with the jab when your 6ft 9 then you're going nowhere. At his height and level of power it shouldn't really matter what his chin is like- look at Wlad.

paisleysaints
I thought this Vargas was meant to be up there or was this Hearn/Brook i was listening to. Reading Dan Rafael comments this morning he doesn't seem to be.
MONKMAN
It's certainly a step up from the 3 jobbers he's last fought.
Meth Damon
It's a decent fight and can't complain about a unification especially with Spence coming up as mandatory
J_Stewart
Vargas is good, very good even, not sure I would say he was one of the top welterweights around though as he's never really been a big puncher even at 140, and the only real elite level fighter he's been in with was Tim Bradley and he lost that fight pretty conclusively (ridiculous finish aside). I'd expect Brook to win fairly comfortably as well. In fairness it is definitely a good step up for Brook and Eddie Hearn (or Marshmallo as he posts on here) from what he's been fighting recently, although the same could be said if he was going in with my postie.
J_Stewart
Confirmed that pros will be allowed to compete in Olympics....surely that's crazy dangerous? ?It's an absolutely ridiculous decision. Who benefits from it? The up and coming amateurs have less chance of winning it, so less chance of gaining endorsements and top coaches to develop when they turn pro. The only pro's that are likely to win it are elite level, so have already won (or are pretty close to winning) world titles and the big money and exposure that goes with that, so it isn't of any real benefit to them, and it's not really going to provide extra exposure for the olympics, cause it's the fucking olympics. Ridiculous decision. Edited June 1, 2016 by J_Stewart
ICTChris
When Eddie sees that Marshmallo has posted last on the P&B Boxing thread It's a good fight for Brook, looking forward to it.
Marshmallo
It's certainly a step up from the 3 jobbers he's last fought. Two of them were mandatories. Frankie Gavin was a joke of a fight. -
Boomtown Boy
With respect to the professionals allowed to qualify to compete in the Olympics, this had to come. Why would they allow pros to compete in every other event but make boxing different? How do Britain select their Olympic team? Is it not from the ABA`s so if this is still the case no pro could qualify for British team anyway, under current criteria

dogmc
Because someone could get their head smashed inFirst thing that occurred to was the basic safety aspect. You don't get punched very often in basketball or golf but in boxing this could have horrid mismatches
kiddy
Bellew on SSN blowing on about taking on Haye. Like Macaranelli before, easy money for the Hayemaker. A quick KO.
