The time away from the ring showed in the 2nd half of the fight; one he was well in control of. He was lucky to see out round 7 & took the fight on a decision that saw a wide spread if scores.
Valuable rounds, in a fight where the likes of Crawford would have finished him. Though I expect better in his next fight.

His statement and the video at the end was very tastefully done. George Groves is one of the good guys, lived his childhood dream and became champion of the world

See that Joshua is to fight Miller in New York. This is the same Anthony Joshua that wouldn’t go to the states to fight Wilder.

Couldn't agree more with this. He's well spoken, considered and intelligent, and has come across well in pretty much every interview he's ever given. Been one of my favourite boxers in the last decade, and glad he's getting out healthy and with plenty of money in the bank. Showed that boxers can work to the beat of their own drum as well having essentially successfully managed his own career.  An excellent career at that. I know he's going to continue with management, and will work on the DeGale Eubank fight as a pundit, but hope he goes in to a regular punditry gig as his dissecting of fights has often been excellent. A classy guy.

On the opposite end of the "classy guy scale", Froch's reaction piece on the Sky website is as bitter and self-promoting as you could imagine. A truly awful man.

Would be amazed if it isn't Joshua v Whyte at Wembley in April, but if it isn't, and Joshua genuinely takes on Miller, he'll get slaughtered in the press and rightfully so. The success of Fury v Wilder, and the relative ease in which they seemed to have negotiated the first and potentially second fight puts Joshua and Hearn in a difficult situation. Time to make some big fights, or they're going to be turned on by fans and media alike pretty quickly.

Not actually watched the Thurman fight from the weekend yet, have it recorded though, so will see if I can catch it tonight. Heard he looked pretty rusty in the second half of the fight. Hopefully see him a lot more active now.

I'm sure the rematch could be made if Froch didn't mind ruining his new beak.

It could, but it’d be the same outcome as the first.
Not seen it mentioned here but one of the scorecards for the Thurman fight was utterly ridiculous! Doesn’t matter because the right man won but how can one judge score a draw and one have it 117-109?! I’d say the draw was closer to a fair reflection of the fight, if forced to pick either.

Froch is an utter w****r. Even to this date Groves is still under his skin it's absolutely ridiculous.
Was this the whole 'British boxing won't miss groves'? The man was a technically shocking boxer, he was just hard as f**k. Great chin and a good dig too. Im still outraged by the stoppage off froch v groves but no arguements about the second fight.

Froch can occasionally seem ok. When he does though, thats his media trained version. Whenever the real Carl Froch comes to the surface he reveals himself to be an absolute p***k. Desperate for his ego to be stroked and simply unable to give credit where its due.

Rattled.

Froch now involved in a twitter spat with Andre Ward and is embarrassing himself claiming Ward didn’t have the “minerals” to fight him in the UK.

Froch is an absolute imbecile of the highest proportion.
Ward would outclass him every day of the week, & twice on Sunday's. No matter the location.
The original fight was a boxing lesson.

Thought you were talking about Froch there.

Even Mrs Froch knows Andre is superior in every department.

Saw one of Josh Taylor's McGuigan Gym stablemates the other day saying Josh is a committed flat earther. He'd been sat next to a pilot at a wedding recently and even the pilot couldn't convince him otherwise. Froch is a proper conspiracy theory loon too.
