tombo
"Kochice stated that the old committee were gone." I think you should read what I actually wrote. I did read your post in response to Clash City Rocker. He mentioned the people who got you into the current mess, you replied the people responsible are long gone. Everyone and his dog on here would assume that those people being referenced were the committee, hence my post. It's just semantics when you look at it. The people responsible are those custodians of the club who provide the governance over all financial transactions, your committee! For example,it was your committee who sanctioned the £16k pay off to Chris Strain,it was also your committee who sanctioned half of the £60k loan from the brewers,to refurbish the social club and put it into the playing staff as opposed to paying off some of your debts at a time when they were more manageable.. My point is that your current chairman and vice chair were part of that decision making process, which means that some of those who you stated were "long gone", in truth are not.! meadowx1
What you dont know you make up. Debt is at the same level as 3 years ago and in fact will have reduced come the end of this season thanks to the Share Issue. The Social Club has been open for 5 years and the entire £60k was spent on refurbishing the Social Club. The Social Club has contributed £72k in the last 4 years so already has paid for itself with 6 years to go. Those involved in 3D golf that took over financial control of the Club from the Committee at that time, as long as 10 years ago, and generated an unbelievable level of debt are in fact long gone. The current Committee should have addressed the level of debt before they did, but they have now. Funding a Junior Club without debt is difficult enough and put an enormous strain on those that were left to manage the Club and they are due some credit for sticking with it and putting in their own money to keep the Club going. There are 7 new members of the Committee whose input has already been invaluable. The Club has a plan to repay the debt and get the Club back into the town and become more involved with the local community. It will take time but the Club will survive which is the most important thing. In 5 years all debts will be repaid, lessons learned from previous mistakes and living within our means. MEADOWXI
Turner & Wardrope - Probably best news to come out of Meadow Park in a while. Hopefully this will bring back a few fans and make the Meadow an Ayrshire team again, (Not in the sense of relegation to the ADL before anyone says but competing and ridiculously hopefully returning to top flight next season), Competing and pushing in the 1st with local players will be a good start. Jacktonite
As I predicted, going for ex players at end of their career with plenty of contact's still playing and can call on ex team mates to come in for a fraction of money they would normally demand plus will get the best of the local youngsters in!
