Motherwell FC - A Thread For All Seasons

I didn't realise Aarons had played 18 times in the Premiership and 11 in Serie A btw. Can definitely see the boy has something about him, reckon there's a lot more still to see.

I suppose the context is that Bigi had/has a similar number of appearances for Newcastle (and by all accounts sold him on the club).

"Gael Bigirimana called me, he said I’d love it up here. So far he’s been right, everyone has been welcoming."

The comparison in minutes played is here: Aarons vs. Bigi

There's a pretty good bit with Aarons in The Guardian from November when he was at Wycombe. Tbh, what I didn't realise was that he's quite hype - and until 5 mins ago I didn't realise he was part of the same England u20s group as our very own Chris Long.

His greatest achievement was getting wound-up a beauty by John Boyle. #legacy

From twitter - Carroll confirmed as out for the season, but Long, Gallagher, Hartley and Mugabi all fit for tomorrow. Turnbull is also in full training again and just waiting from the ok from his specialist to play again.

That's a total shiter - I think he's quietly been one of the best players in the team this season. I thought Tait looked sharp the other night, which was a welcome change from some of his recent performances - and I guess he'll be our left back for the rest of the season now...

The news on Gallacher, Long and (especially) Turnbull is obviously excellent...

If nothing else it should mean Tait will get a run of games now rather than just being dropped in now and again.

Absolute Yasssss! to the Gallagher, Long and (obviously) Turnbull news...

I'd not rush Turnbull back yet either. Let that play out slowly.

How long does it take to recover from a rid neck?

100%.

Absolutely buzzing for the shouts for him to start tomorrow though and seethe when he's not.

I keep seeing folk touting Aarons for left wing back role.

I don't care if he can/has played there before, he's the closest thing to an out ball we have and I don't want to limit what is an already limited final thrid of the pitch.

So fucking stop that. I'd rather see him play upfront himself even if he was shiiiiiiiiiite at it.

Don't get me wrong, Carroll has had a decent, if perhaps unspectacular, season and it has been good that we finally seem to have exercised the ghosts of not being able to find a left-footed player to replace Stevie Hammell, but I am totally fine with Richard Tait playing left-back until the end of the season.

It's one of my least favourite moronic Motherwell fan shouts when people say "I like Richard Tait but he can't play on the left" when he's played most of his Motherwell career on the left.

It'll be interesting to see if Robbo puts his money where his mouth is regarding Hartley and Mugabi with his team selection.

I'm very much tempted to wait until a line up is announced before I opt to go to Hamilton away tomorrow. If it includes Hartley or Mugabi I'll take my £25 and go get a fish supper and a cone from Equis instead.

It's a good plan, I am very much probably maybe possibly going. PATG though and at 2pm I will see what is announced.

As a neutral I'm buzzing to see him back, desperate that he can reach the heights he reached before

Aw yeah of course. I don't think we should see him until mid March if not later. Let him find his feet and hopefully pick up not far behind where he left off.

Let's also get him signed up for another year or two.

O'Hara was ridiculous. Was popping up everywhere and I was absolutely convinced he was going to net us the winner.
I thought Watt brought a lot to the table as well tbh.

Watt and McIver both were excellent I thought second half, McIver is so good in the air.... Although we gloss over him losing his man for their second I believe

I actually am willing to give Maciver the benefit of the doubt for losing his man, he should be tighter but for me, why he is marking Obika is the question that should be asked, why are hartley or Mugabi not marking him rather than leaving him to a young attacker built like a fiver?
