btw the Sligo stewards and plod showed us how policing a game should be done, handshakes and a bit of banter

Aye - they were tremendous - literally the most laid back that I've ever seen.

I might ask them to refund my season ticket.

No offence meant and I've not read through the thread so you may have already answered this (apologies if so) but...what were you expecting when you bought a season ticket?

Watching Alexander's Motherwell has been the most miserable footballing experience I've ever endured. It's really not a surprise (to me) this result. I really don't know if some people have been deluding themselves but watching that team week after week surely can lead you to only one conclusion. We are depressingly bad, the worst in my lifetime.

I am not serious. Just bullshit caused by rage.

It's more me wondering if it even is possible.

Fair play man. I’m just so scunnered myself. Need to vent.

GIRUY !!

Imagine if your team lose to this utter gang on Sunday. That would be a GIRUY moment. Not going to happen but I may pop back in here if it does.

Nice place Sligo although did not see much outside the centre. People were very nice. Got to go away on a European trip. That is about it really.

I was an Alexander fanboy for well over a year. Then I was 50/50. Now. He needs to go. He will probably get a few league games. But not sure why. This has been coming since last season.

At least Prague lost as well. Stavangar may be a nice place to go but it is not Prague. So save myself a few quid. About the only bright spot.

Well done to Sligo. Did not need to do too much over the two legs to beat us. Hope they do well next round but suspect this will be the last useless side they will come up a against 🤷‍♂️🤬

My reasons for the season ticket

  • Supporting the Club.
  • Hoping things would change for the better. Believing that we would make changes and bring people in to improve the squad.
  • European football. Get access to away tickets.
  • Force me to go to more home games

I'm really thinking of cancelling it/getting a refund. I've already asked the ticket team if it is even possible in prep for the inevitable " we go again" posts.

Alexander surely won’t be here too much longer. Anyone who’s bought a season ticket I’d urge to keep a hold of it, ultimately you’ll only regret it otherwise.

Fwiw for me I never invested in a season ticket this season for two reason. Financially things aren’t fantastic and coupling that with a complete lack of faith in Alexander to ever provide a likeable team then i made a tough personal decision that it wasn’t for me this year.

I’ll still be a long to games and support the club as much as I can. There does come a point though when you are so dead set against the man in charge (as I am), that you feel you need to make a stand however small that may be.

Why would we take out two Scottish clubs in a comparison between the Scottish league and the Irish league?

That's almost as stupid as when you selectively picked results rather than looking at your real position between Kosovo and Armenia as the bottom-feeding trash of European football.

Because if you take away these 2 clubs, there is really not much difference between these two leagues.

On a night when Irish teams have beaten a Scottish team and a Slovenian team you're showing some ignorance to refer to them as 'bottom-feeding trash'. That's all I'm saying. And let's not kid ourselves that any non-OF Scottish team wouldn't be delighted with St Pat's result tonight.

Go have a look at Irish teams results and non-OF teams results over past 10 years and see if you can see any real difference.  Motherwell qualified from the Scottish league and pretty much any fan on this thread would tell you that they were brutally bad last season. We are in no place to insult the quality of other leagues.

You want to mock Armenia too? Have a look at our record....

Not sure I understand the outrage tonight. I'm quite proud of the lads, aren't we the first amateur side to play this stage in Europe?

Thanks for that result earlier Motherwell. I’ve got family over in Ireland giving me no end of abuse now, after years of me telling them St Mirren would win the Irish League at a canter.

All kidding aside that’s a really poor result, the home tie especially with the Motherwell fans turning out in excellent numbers to support the team. It would be too reactionary to call it anything other than an upset though, and I don’t think it will have too much bearing on how Motherwells season pans out. For all the good results we’ve had in Europe like St Johnstone beating Rosenborg or Aberdeen beating Groningen, there’s always been results like Hearts getting beat by Birkirkara or Kilmarnock getting embarrassed by Connahs Quay.

I’m sure we will have to endure our footballing media, as well as OF fans on Twitter, coming out with tropes that we are ‘the laughing stock of Europe’ or such nonsense over this result, when in reality nobody in Europe particularly gives a f**k about a Conference League qualifying match. Always makes me laugh when I hear things like that, as if football fans in France, Spain or Germany are sitting with their friends saying things like ‘Scottish football must be shite btw, Motherwell just got beat off Sligo Rovers’.

Cant believe that after everything we done last season to get into Europe, Alexander treats it like the bloody League cup group stage.

Just woke up and somehow I'm feeling a bit more angry about the situation.

I take your point to an extent.

However, its not reactionary from most Motherwell fans. Its the culmination of watching 18 months of eye bleedingly bad football and 7 months of rank rotten results.

These 2 games were just the straw that broke the camels back.

I’m torn between being “done till he’s gone” or turning up in Paisley waiting on them getting off the bus to hit them with the worst abuse.

I’ve a horrible feeling that the board will give him a few more games which is beyond pointless.

Yeah you will know better than me to be fair. I was using reactionary more in the context of the state of Scottish football as a whole, but I accept Motherwell fans haven’t been happy with Alexander or the team for a while now.

One of my work mates is a big Well fan and he’s been saying similar to yourself.

It's also worth noting the majority were willing to give him a fresh start if he acknowledged his role in the problems and made changes. If he'd done this and we'd still lost to Sligo, surrounded by building blocks, you could even have had a debate then if he could actually create a new side.

But his refusal to do this, instead doubling down, means there's no way back. The fact it's the identical pattern to every job he's had just made his contract extension all the more mental, as was pointed out at the time.

Already given my ticket away.

How does the fan ownership thing work in the sacking the manager situation? A board would usually be reluctant to patch a manager with 3 years left on his deal due to the hefty payout, not sure if the fan ownership means these things are overlooked more in favour of fan opinion.

Basically anyone that pays a fiver a month thinks they have a right to tell him he's getting the bullet, is the long and short of it.
