Londonwell
I always thought he was shite tbh but haven’t seen him the season just past, so would be unfair to judge really. If County fans think he’s improved then that’s positive. The first piece in the jigsaw of Alexander’s free flowing expansive football for next season, maybe. Kapowzer
If Blair Spittal is seen as a significant improvement off the back of Euro Qualification and increased funds then I am underwhelmed at the pond we're fishing in.
YassinMoutaouakil
Versatile and Premiership proven, hard to turn our collective nose up at, IMO.
Gianfranco
I’m guessing Spittal would be replacing Roberts. He’s a decent enough player to bring off the bench and occasionally start.
capt_oats
Tbh, I don't think the issue with Spittal has ever been that he's *shite* it's more he's had developed a tag of being somewhat pea hearted. Which may, or may not, have been a reputation he picked up from being in that United team that was relegated. The way I see it is - is he better than the players we're losing / is he an upgrade on what we have? So; is he better than Roberts/Amaluzor? Yes is he better than Joe Efford/Connor Shields? Also, Yes. A broader question is, is he better than Tony Watt, to which the answer is 'probably not' but from the bits and pieces I've seen in clips on YouTube he feels like a similar type of player. I don't know if @RandomGuy. is still doing his radar graphs but it'd be interesting to see how Spittal compared with Watt last season. He also offers very good set piece delivery and can ping in free kicks. Like others I can really only go on what County fans have been saying and it seems like he's coming off the back of a good season where's he's captained their side on occasion. I mean, he's hardly a marquee signing but picking up a player from another team in the league who has been performing well and offers something that we've been missing seems like a good enough start IMO. Handsome_Devil
Does he really play that high up the pitch? Shows how little I actually know about him, I always assumed he was more midfield than a forward/winger!

I asked a Thistle supporting pal of mine about him the other day when we were mentioned as a possible destination in the County thread and he said he can play right, left or a #10 off a front man. I've not really checked whether that's changed at County tbf. Here's he is playing for United against Dundee. Handsome_Devil
Interesting. Doesn't turn me completely against him by any means but makes his stats perhaps a little less shiny. Hard to argue you wouldn't take a chance on him being better than Amaluzor/Roberts/Efford though.
Neil86
Definitely in the worth a punt category, I was very impressed with him in the 2-1 game at fir park, lost count of how many good balls he put into the box. an upgrade on 3 or 4 of our current forward line.
Desp
Cardiac arrests aplenty in the East Stand when we've got Sean Goss & Blair Spittal in the same team and we're 4-0 to Celtic after half an hour. Whit a carry on. No thank you.

But that's my job...'.

crazylegsjoe_mfc
Given in the past few years when we've dipped into "unknown" markets in the forward areas we've ended up with Justin Amaluzor, Christy Manzinga, Joe Efford, Deimantus Petravicius and Christian Ilic, I think we could do a lot worse than signing a guy who's proved to be decent in the Scottish Premiership already.

capt_oats
It's the vaguest of vague links but whatevs... The actual mention is here, on a page with the bold Ally Gorrin as possible shouts for Portsmouth. His loan at St Johnstone was cut short by the Covid season. *waves at @RandomGuy.* Edited May 19 by capt_oats
RandomGuy.
He's perfect for this division as he's class and huge. I'll honestly be raging if he signs elsewhere as we had the perfect chance to get him 2 years ago.

Mainstand Sweary Mob
How have Jordan Roberts and Justin Amaluzor been for you guys? Think you are not resigning them? I ask as they are wingers and known to be pacey... Two things I could see Stephen Robinson lusting over.
