Motherwell FC - A Thread For All Seasons

GA has also said that Tierney may be used as an option upfront, so TW's replacement might already be with us.

Aye, someone (I'd guess @RandomGuy.) posted a heatmaps of Watt and Tierney a while back and they were pretty similar IIRC.

I get the impression that Tierney is here more with a view to next season but bumping up the available subs means there's a decent chance to drip feed him into the side. He's still a slightly weird signing as to all intents and purposes he's a #10 (and we don't play with a #10) albeit Alexander was clear in pointing out that we actively target players who can play in 'at least' two of the roles we have in the team and swerve players who have one specific position.

Short term I'd have thought Shields/Roberts are more likely to take up Watt's position on the left of the 3.

Like others on here I still wouldn't be surprised to see another 'across the front 3' forward come in and tbf, while he said he wasn't looking at bringing a "direct replacement" in for Watt Alexander's press conference didn't rule out other players coming in.

Whats the script with Slattery  Carroll? Is he nursing an injury?

I fail to believe anyone can look at our midfield options Nathan McGinley and decide Slattery anyone else isn't in the best three one.

Was coming on to say similar. I get not wanting to change a winning team or whatever but Slattery is better than Donnelly or Maguire by several orders of magnitude and it isn't really up for debate IMO.

🤣🤣🤣

Often I wonder what life would have been like if I had skill, composure, ability, poise and speed and became a professional footballer. The lifestyle, camaraderie, remuneration (if you're good) and the opportunities are all aspirational.

Then those thoughts are tempered with being on a bus for 4 hours down the A9 tonight with his seethe and rage down the front:

Would the Wimpy still have been open before the bus left though?

During the game I was thinking 1-1 wouldn’t be the worst result, a point on the road, continue a bit of form from before the break, cast away the cobwebs after 3 weeks of inactivity, get a good run out before the Morton game.

A pipedream.
