Swello
52 minutes ago, Well Well said: From Twitter it appears Declan Gallagher is having signing talks with the dons. Not fussed We've all known he was offski at the end of the season, so it doesn't feel like a big deal. I think it would be anti-climactic for him if he "only" got a move within our league as I assume he would have been hoping for a couple of years down south to line his pension pot....
YassinMoutaouakil
He still commutes from Dundee so I suppose that's probably his optimal move in terms of financial gain as well as minimal upheaval.

Aye, there was no scenario where he was going to be here next season anyway. If the clause kicked in then we'd be doing everything we could to cash in on him, if his contract expired, as everyone was expecting before his agent started leaking to the press, then he'd have been looking to trade up anyway. We got one outstanding season from him, one mediocre one and a pretty fucking dismal captaincy. Good luck to him. That said it's a wee shame for Declan if, much like Mark McGhee, his dream move to Celtic hasn't worked out and he's having to settle for Aberdeen.
YassinMoutaouakil
It's funny how that's three captains in a row that have been impressive before but entirely underwhelming with the armband on. Maybe we should give it to someone who's already been average- Lamie or Crawford or someone- and see if it spurs them on to greatness.

Ron Aldo
From Twitter it appears Declan Gallagher is having signing talks with the dons. Not fussed Would be hilarious if that end up being his "big" move.
Archie McSquackle
If you'd asked me last week where I thought he'd move to, Aberdeen would have my first guess. He's form has dropped off (although I thought he played well at Hibs) so less likely to attract interest from England and Aberdeen or Hearts are his likely highest potential payers in Scotland. He'll probably double his money and it's a fairly safe and obvious signing for Glass as a new manager.
dezz
Aye Aberdeen is a fine move from Gallagher’s point of view. Probably a 2-3 year deal on double his money and won’t need to move house. Fair play to him, not bad for a guy that was playing L1 a few years ago. I’m guessing it’s a stick on that SOD will be our captain next year. I’m okay with that, seems a decent guy but more b*****ds will be needed.
Ill Ray
Declan Gallagher’s social media interactions with fans this season has been somewhat toxic and he’s shown some contempt for the supporters. Bearing in mind there’s daft supporters at every club, I don’t condone abuse to players though. Can see this being best for both parties as he doesn’t seem content here and if we kept him his feeling of malcontent could disrupt the squad. I’d say we might need to sign a couple of defenders and hope the ones we do have improve to being more reliable. If Kipre came back on loan that would be great though

capt_oats
I'll not lie, I genuinely laughed.out.loud when I saw Alexander had won manager of the month considering some of the mile oot takes we've seen recently. Motherwell fans getting bent out of shape that a manager has the team winning games but not with enough style and panache...what a time. Busta Nut
I am somewhere on the fence here. I know Alexander has done really well with us. Nearly 50% win isn't to be scoffed at. However the way we shut up shop against a 10 man accies team and defended for half an hour was worthy of a moan. ETA: I don't think I have done more than say we need to change it a bit as it is horrible to watch but I think the fact I am watching on a fucking laptop most weeks plays a part in that. Guest superward
Well played to GA. We can scoff all we want but his managerial counterparts didn't better him and those two wins saw us to safety. As for the Declan Gallagher stuff, amuses me no end how bent out of shape people are about it. His two years hasn't panned out that well due to the January story etc but I find it hard to get annoyed about it tbh. He had a good first year, a middling second year, and he's off to make more money somewhere else at a rival. It's happened before and it will happen again. I was all for playing him to ensure we are safe as he's still our player and was, imo, still our best central defender. Now we are safe, given he will be away, I'd rather we got some permanent players (i.e. not Magloire either) in there for the last few games. Aye, I mean, there's a pretty big difference between acknowledging that some games have been a pretty tough watch and some of the takes that have been flying around. There were some folk who seemed genuinely furious after the Accies game which is a weird vibe. For what it's worth, my take is that Alexander's done more than enough in the short time he's been here to show that he's a competent manager and he was a good choice by the board to succeed Robinson. He's taken over a huge, underperforming squad that has clearly had a lot going on in the background and turned the results around to ensure safety - initially he had us pressing and trying to play out from the back but presumably got spooked by the Accies and St Johnstone games, recently he's clearly just had us grinding to get over the line. I think that's the point that a lot of folk who have been losing their minds have chosen to overlook - the way he had us trying to play against Rangers when he was just in the door in January was very different to how we played against Accies last week. The question I have, that isn't really related to style or anything like that is just generally how he sees things going forward and how that marries with what the club are trying to do. At the moment it kind of feels like he's come in and tweaked Robinson's squad a bit and managed to get a tune out them that Robinson couldn't. It's a very different thing for him to put his own stamp on things or go deep enough into this to change the culture and mentality at the club (which is something that Robinson did in the 17/18 pre-season). 22 minutes ago, superward said: Well played to GA. I know I shouldn't be but I'm surprised that there are people out there who genuinely thought that he wouldn't be speaking to other clubs just now (or hasn't been for the past few months).
