We must have the worst goal difference of a team finishing second ever in 2013/14 you’d think?

Seemed like we won loads of games by the odd goal and every time we got beaten, we got pumped that season.

We’ve had a lot better players over the years than the likes of Nielsen, Hollis, Carswell, Kerr, Lawson etc, who won’t be able to say they ever finished 2nd.

That said, it wasn’t too much of a surprise that when you took Faddy, Anier (as much as both were hot and cold over the course of the season) and Hutchy out we slid down the table very quickly.

94/95 we finished 2nd with a GD of 0 which is wild.

Not sure you'll care, but I just spent about 3hrs building a database of strikers goalscoring stats from the past 4 seasons to build a rating system.

Going great until Jordan fucking White appeared, with his 0 score across the board, that sent everything absolutely mental and fired up errors literally everywhere.

I hope you punt him soon.

I suspect he'll be sitting with a big, fat donut in the stats by January and we'll punt him out then.

I had to delete him out the system as it genuinely crashed the moment he appeared in it. Even if he had a shot on target or something it would be fine, but hes managed nothing.

FWIW, Calum Lang is apparently the 4th best striker this season so far (only players who've played over 600 mins, so no Celtic strikers. Ony 20 players in total). Long is 15th, Watt 11th.

Langs current score of 8.1 is the same as Moult in 17/18 a your highest. Obvious caveat that Moult maintained that over a season. Without this season, and the OF, Moult 17/18 sits 8th in terms of strikers over the past 4 seasons according to this. Let down by his team mates up front, as his figures in terms of creative play should be higher than they are, which would've bumped him right up. Impossible to factor this in now its so far back.

What's the chances of this working along the lines of Back To The Future, and he just disappears in real life like he never existed?

Stick in a column for disallowed goals and he becomes legit.

In fairness, Moult did move on in January 18 and played his last league game for the club in November, so it was still quite a condensed period of time. (Edit - was 2nd December, my mistake)

Offsides and fouls given away would take him right up there too.

It's strange how much better season 93/94 is on just about every stat other than final position. 2nd place in 94/95, but only four wins and a draw away from the playoffs.

I was far too young to remember this time consciously (my first game was Feburary 97) but there must have been some sense of regret in the 93/94 season with the way it ended. Not only that we were that close, but that Rangers managed to win the league without winning any of their last five games.

It being 2 points for a win back then done us anaw. Moved to 3 the season after.
