You could always hear the songs at games the difference now is Boyd and Clarke have brought it up.

Strict Liability? Closing down Stands if sectarian songs continue to be sung? Life bans for sectarian abuse? They won't. But something needs to be done either by the football authorities or the politicians. I just don't see a nothing will get done about it scenario. Baxter Parp
It is amazing how the repeal of the act was a starter flag for the worst c***s in Scotland.

In fairness clubs like ours had stopped sing the likes of "we hate Killie, black bastar*s and we'll chase them everywhere" as although this act was supposedly to stop sectarianism, it was clubs such as ours who were being done under the "racism" banner even though we were meaning "black" as in "not washing". Happily the above song has resurfaced for the time being, so some good did come out of repealing the act. All joking aside though, we didn't need additional legislation that only covered football fans as existing laws were more than enough to deal with the scum from both sides, however as has previously been mentioned there was little to no appetite to deal with the real old firm perpetrators and instead they went hunting for the easy targets in the lower leagues.

Detournement
"Black" meaning not washing was pretty common in Scotland before there were many racially black people.

Surely to God nobody seriously thinks that any football fans are using "black" as a derogatory term for someone who is dark in skin colour ?? If they do, it's them that have the problem or maybe we're all guilty of using a derogatory term for an illegitimate child ?? Christ, it really is a minefield these days !! (apologies to any Christians out there who may have take offence at my use of language)
Newbornbairn
Quote Police warn of rise in 'sectarianism & consistently thuggish behaviour' at football https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47406591 Like how he dances around who is behind it - Quote When asked about data on these incidents, Kerr said it was "hard to quantify" and that his comments are based on the anecdotal evidence of officers policing the matches. What are they going to do about it though? Quote He added that Police Scotland would "certainly not be going to arrest our way out of this". shitebags
RandomGuy.
Is any of that new? You regularly see them standing staring into crowds of Rangers/Celtic fans singing about the IRA/"******s" and do nothing about it. Only time they've ever got involved in one of those games at McDiarmid was when Celtic fans started scrapping in the stand and one ended up knocked out, the guy literally had to start swinging at the police to get himself dragged away.

Venti
Heard a story (unsure of source) about a fan who shouted "throw him a banana!" at a player who went down with cramp. The potassium in bananas are apparently good for cramp. Problem was the guy was a black man.
