Bob Malcolm in charge on Tuesday? Bring back Barry...

Normally in such circumstances when the manager resigns or is sacked,

the rest of the backroom staff leave, too.

By no stretch of the imagination can I see Bob Malcolm being managerial

material, and I base that opinion having coached at senior level.

There is only one man for the job. Step forward Jim Chapman!

Doing a decent job at Annan. Currently in the promotion play-off

places. Has a really good Number Two in John Joyce, who knows his

stuff working with players and taking coaching sessions.

Goalkeeper Blair Currie also having a good season after spending

quite a few years coming through the ranks at Rangers. His younger

brother, Max, is at Stranraer.

Chapman and Joyce would be foolish if they left Annan for Clyde. They have a better squad of players at Annan than the useless bunch that are at Clyde.
Where will Clyde now get the money to bring in players now that Ferguson has left?

Something to watch out for: recruiting an inexperienced candidate with an excellent record as a coach or scout. The best we've had from such people recently is stagnation (Joe Miller). The worst is annihilation (John Brown). Witness also the current example of Ian Cathro at Hearts.

And anyone minded to institute a philosophy or ideology can bolt. Football managers and philosophy... Plato wept.

Recruiting someone who isn't both experienced and successful would be regrettable. Nobody outstanding comes to mind, sadly. Allan Moore's record pre-Abroath was excellent; final season at Morton aside. That little stint with Arbroath's a worry. Some absolute cloggers in that team.

Chapman and Joyce have worked hard to put a better squad together. I always

feel that a new manager taking over at any club will get more out of players - particularly

those who have not featured under previous management - and I have seen that for myself

being involved in the Scottish Football League.

I firmly believe that can happen with Clyde.

Your second point is spot on. The "powers than be " at Broadwood have a lot to answer

for.

So you've mentioned you coached twice now, and also at Scottish league level.

Don't suppose you're about to tell us a team,??  I must have met you sometime.

Expect next seasons team to be from bargain basement. Current X1 have cost us a manager and perhaps our league status. Thanks

If that's the case then the board have a lot to answer for allowing it to happen having told us were debt free etc

Well the accounts should make some interesting reading where did the money come for this year's squad ?

If he was paying some of their wages, the near future is looking grim. I'd imagine Easton, Linton, macdonald etc would be amongst the highest earners in the league

We were told he hadn't put any money into the club

So the budget should be same next year :)

Anyway I'm sure the fans will get the blame for the manager leaving , well it's always the fans fault for all the ills at the club :)
