Now being linked with Ben Williamson as well, maybe my earlier post about 2 Rangers on loan midfielders being more than enough for McCall might be wrong.

That's quite a catalogue of shite after Mayo and Rudden...

"Jags boss Ian McCall has been no stranger to signing players coming out of the Auchenhowie academy since becoming manager at Firhill in 2019. Lewis Mayo had huge success in red and yellow last season on loan from the Light Blues while Zak Rudden also became a fan favourite after his initial move across Glasgow to the Championship.

Other players include Jamie Barjonas, Rhys Breen, Kieran Wright, Adam Devine, Jake Hastie, Aaron Cervantes, Juan Alegria and reserve goalkeeper Andy Firth".

Tony Weston is the Sevco B player that I would take on loan. He's versatile and a goal scorer.

To be fair, Keiran Wright was decent (and Firth was irrelevant).

Mayo (1st spell): good

Mayo (2nd spell):  excellent

Barjonas: rubbish

Breen: meh

Wright: fine

Hastie: garbage

Alegria: garbage

Firth/Cervantes: made up the numbers

Devine: came and went in a couple days

Ben Williamson was at the Rovers for a fair chunk of last season and was mostly... *shrug*

He's fairly versatile, McGlynn used him in a number of roles across the midfield, and then at the very end of the season he got a couple of games up front and scored a double away at Accies. Constantly shifting positions almost certainly didn't help him, but I don't think he ever really performed well enough in any single position to justify a first team place.

Did people not say that about Allegria before he joined us though

"Itten was hooked at half-time in the weekend ‘B’ team clash against Celtic and was substituted again, this time on the hour mark, against the Spiders. And that was all the time his replacement Tony Weston needed to fire a double and take his tally for the season to a staggering 35 goals."

"Many took to Twitter and one wrote: “Tony Weston has smashed in 35 goals so far this season for our ‘B’ squad - more than double the next player and 22 more than Juan Alegria. Young lad is on flames.”

If we are being realistic, we need someone to come in and be our main striker.

Graham is great but he is getting on and had his injury issues. Dowd is a good option but I wouldnt want him starting every week.

I'd be very underwhelmed if that striker was a youngster on loan.

If we’re playing a 4-3-3 then I’m happy with Graham as main striker and Dowds as backup, but think we need another type (fast, presses defenders, runs channels etc.) to give us the option of playing a proper front two. Wouldn’t mind if that was a promising youngster though as wouldn’t expect him to play every week.

Looks like we will only take Aidan Fitzpatrick back if there is no compensatory payment to QoS.

Why will you not pay a compensatory fee to Queens ?

Do you not think he is worth it ?.

Have to hope Queens don't give in and just wait till you pay what is due

We haven’t received a penny from Dundee for Rudden and he joined them in January- so we might be waiting for that to be resolved first

Because QOTS are a little mud club that deserve nothing from us.
