Exactly this.

It's a shite way to treat the supporters who gave their money to help the club through a difficult summer.

Surely the club have some sort of legal duty* to automatically give that money back if it was advertised as a full season but it is now only 3/4 a season?

Whether it is the truth or not, it certainly looks like the club is banking (literally) on the fans not wanting to take the money they are owed out of the club. That is hardly great from a PR perspective.

*not legally minded in the slightest but if it doesn't come under some mild fraud type duty, then the money should be automatically paid from a moral point of view.

Folk who bought their season ticket back in march(?) For 20/21 did so to support the club through difficult times.

They bought a full fixture list ticket. Now that it's a reduced season they grossly overpaid, all in good faith, to support the club.

The club have now told them rather than refund the difference they overpaid, compared to the updated ST price.... They must request their refund manually, through the club.

I guess the lack of uptake on refunds from last years season ticket has led to them chancing it again. Which does as you said seem a bit of a brass neck, there's a bit of a difference in opting not taking a refund after the season had already started due to something of a force majeure vs. trying on the fly to take in full price tickets for something that was wholly predictable for the upcoming season.

That's the thing too; a lot of the people buying tickets earlier in the year at full price won't have claimed a refund for last season, so trying to bleed fans out of paying full price for last season (which didn't see all matches played) AND this season by making it harder to get a refund (not a full fixture schedule due to the later season start) is, well, shite.

The Thistle Archive tour (1/4) - Matches

http://www.thethistlearchive.net/matches

Our unique match hubs (currently 1461/6599 uploaded) are at the very heart of the Archive and, in time, we'll have one in place for every known match, 1876 to date. Access them by clicking on the match result in any of the given season overview pages above.

As well as the summary header featuring attendance (90% fulfillment) and half-time score (96% fulfillment), a minimum of three tabs are omnipresent. The "Match Information" tab ideally features the 2-way line-ups with forenames and surnames identified wherever possible, as well as goalscorers with timings and more. We've got 97.4% fulfillment Thistle on Thistle's starting eleven slots, with the opposition (a work in progress) not too far behind. The "Match Report" tab carries, at the very least, our own potted report for each and every game, as well as contemporary accounts transcribed wherever we have them collected. The "Stats Watch" tab is in place for each and every game, currently loaded with 25,000+ stats over the years, albeit many of these games have yet to be uploaded.

As well as these three "core" tabs, the occasional "Scrapbook" tab usually houses cut-outs from match-day newspaper reports, but can also include side stories, previews or match-day memorabilia such as programme covers, match tickets or pictures. Several hundred of the games will feature a "Video Highlights" tab; our aim is to embed a match highlights video for every match where such media is freely available.

Read more about our match hubs:

http://www.thethistlearchive.net/about#match-hubs

Currently we've got 40 seasons covered, 106 to go. Whilst we could fairly easily upload basic hubs for the rest (about 80 hours of uploading), the decision's been taken to hold off until we've got them to the Thistle Archive reference-quality standard. This could yet take another few years, depending on personal circumstances. You can probably expect to see them being delivered in batches of 15-20 seasons at a time, with the next lot (1907-08 to 1924-25 inclusive) set to arrive in the next 2/3 months.

A juicy match hub in full-effect:

http://www.thethistlearchive.net/match-2017-04-01

Relating to these match hubs, we're planning on having a separate menu for match videos only, which will enable you to get straight to the action in any one of several hundred games via one simple page. But that's another story for another day.

Any questions / ideas fire away, pt 2 of the tour in a couple of days...

Not sure about the timeline - but I guess that most people that renewed at full price knew full well that there wasn’t going to be a full season. I think it is a fair assumption that they wouldn’t have been looking for a refund.

I am a ST holder and was quite happy to let Thistle have the extra last year, but held off renewing until this week at reduced rate.

However, if this season is curtailed further I won’t be asking for a refund.

What do you think realistically the chances are of seeing live football at  firhill this year I can’t see Nicola agreeing as covid figures continue to rise

I see the first baby step towards the fans owning the club finally kicked off 4 days late.

Anyone think this sounds oddly like what we had 20 years ago with the jags trust rep. A position tied up in confidentiality and effectively useless.

I find it ridiculous that “Thistle For Ever” is still an option and at no point has anyone realised that it should be “Thistle Forever”.

Good to see that this group are getting into the important issues from the off though.

6 months to pick a name. What progress we’re making. Fingers crossed we can get this fan ownership all completely finalised in time for our bicentennial season in 2075/76.

On a point of principle I put "Thistle for Ever" and "The Weir Thistle Society" as my fourth and fifth preference.
