Of all these names linked today (Rudden, Graham, Smith, DKD, McKinnon, McCart, Berra), even three of them would be a massive improvement on what we’ve got right now.

And unless it’s all media shite, it looks like we’ve got a fair amount of money to spend.

Knocking back the idea of Christophe Berra when we’ve still got fucking Sean McGinty getting in the matchday squad - come on, lads.

Steven Anderson was very useful for us last season, and Berra would (at worst) be a pretty similar player. A defender who will bring organisation and win loads of headers, but can’t run or pass. That works at this level.

Berra’s is finished and his legs have gone but so had Steven Anderson’s. Despite not being very good, his leadership and organisational skills improved us. Can’t see it happening though.

Love Ando but Berra was a better defender when they last shared a division.

Hard to judge Berra when hes playing far more than his body could cope with, and asked to play a high line.

At least this clears up whether you'll be getting some of Weirs money to spend in this window.

Not really, as fans of all teams are great at spending other peoples' money or cash that isn't there. And so far the club hasn't confirmed any of the rumours.

Just rumours, but you're offering to pay a fair whack of Berras contract, you've paid a fee verging on six figures for Rudden, plus a wage that sticks him above most players in the division, you've blown Morton out the water for MacKinnon, and you're expected to try and spend another fee on Jamie McCart if/when he agrees a PCA.

Lots of money being spent for this level.

Blown Morton’s offer for McKinnon out the water? How do you know we simply have not offered him simply £30 a week more than what Morton are offering?

berras wages are being paid by hearts we could potentially be just paying £500 a week off that - perhaps hearts don’t want him on loan to a rival in the same division

graham - again only a loan so county paying most of his wages

rudden does seem impressive but we have got 4 players of the wage bill already this month so could be a combination of a couple of wages

finally worth remembering that these are all just rumours and so far have not signed a single additional player in this transfer window

We've got rid of a handful of players - Wilson, Palmer, Kakay, De Vita, Ben Hall - and there's the cup game against Celtic edit: which i think is televised too. We also re-offered season tickets for general sale once Caldwell was punted (haven't seen any numbers but having not renewed for the start of this season personally I jumped at it, dunno how many others would be in the same boat but at a guess it'd be a good few grand so tbh nothing spectacular)

afaik we don't factor the cups in when setting budgets or at least we didn't, that might have been more a top flight thing though.

Press [X] to Doubt that we're magicking money out of Colin Weir's estate to fund this window.

McCall on sportsound saying Rudden deal just needs clearance now. Nominal fee with a sell on clause

He also sounded positive about McKinnon, and was talking about bringing more 'experienced' players in for the rest of the season

Bad one for yous today but apparently full back young Finn Ecrepont is coming to Thistle. He’s only started one game for us but highly rated and Scotland under 17 regular, massive future. Would image he will be loaned back out as he won’t be ready yet. Mind you a would be expecting him to have played a major part next year for us. McCall loves him anyway. There’s a development fee to be sorted anyway but should be done.
