Quality signing, a wee bit rough round the edges, need to keep playing him even when he's playing shite, that's when he scores. Almost every time I wanted him subbed off last season he scored about 5 minutes later.

Agree with this. Thistle fans will love Rudden as his commitment is brilliant and he never, ever gives up.

Could this be the start of Thistle being the club that Rangers use to give their young players experience ? Taking advantage of McCall’s relationship with them ?

Aye, hope he does well. Put in a real fucking effort to keep us up when that was lacking from several others. And nearly managed it.

Hes one of those guys that it's hard to put your finger on what attritube it is that makes him successful. Not the fastest, not the best touch, decent but not great in the air.... But he does a shed load of work. Never stops running and hassling, and most importantly has the knack you cant teach of just being in the right place. He scored so many scrappy type of goals for us where he was just there, where no defender had thought to be. It happened often enough that it cant be luck.

He has the advantage of not being Kenny "point and shout" Miller so thats a start

He sounds quite a lot like a younger King Kenny  in that description...

With the exception of being in the right place at the right time to score goals (hopefully).

Kenny has still managed 11. Not helped playing behind Jones the last few games.

Anyway, hopefully he can get on the end of a few chances going forward.

He’s scored 5 in the league

Doolan scored more in less game time as did McDonald

Maybe if you exclude cup games. Whether we like it or not he's been our best option up until now. Hopefully Rudden can put away some of the chances Kenny and others have missed going forward.

Might even give Miller a wee gee up.

Add in Graham as more of an aerial threat and I'm pretty happy with our forward options.

MacKinnon could be the missing link in midfield. Could also give the defence some much needed protection too.

Mackinnon could be the missing link.

You should have stopped there.

The league is our “bread and butter” yes he’s our “best” option, but he’s currently a more expensive downgrade on both Doolan and McDonald, but that fault lies with Caldwell and the board for sanctioning it

McDonald yes based on last season but not heard much about how he's getting on this season. Doolan I'd disagree with. He's hardly kicked a ball this season.

Totally agree with this. A great shame Doolan hasn't played much at Ayr, but he still managed a goal against us.
