I may be wrong, but was the whole electoral system in Scotland not set up in order to make it difficult to get a majority? Are the SNP the only party in Scotland so far to ever hold a majority in hollyrood?

 

Yes and yes.

 

The idea is that you should only be able to get a majority if you get over 50% of the votes.

Welsh Assembly projection (YouGov poll surveyed today):

LAB: 27 AMs (-3)

PC: 12 (+1)

CON: 11 (-3)

UKIP: 8 (+8)

LDEM: 2 (-3)

Chgs. from 2011

Would be a huge night for UKIP, fairly awful for LabLibCon.

I've been speaking to mates in the party throughout the country, folk are jittery.

 

Last I seen the SNP were 1/19 odds on with the bookies to get a majority.

 

Anything less will now be seen as a massive failure.

 

I canny see it not happening though. The opposition are an absolute shambles.

I thought this would have been expected to be another romp. Not really kept up to date, but slightly concerned about the posts in this thread so far!
