Pollok 0 Hurlford 0

Full-Time

Pollok win 3-2 on penalties .

It was 4-3 actually.

Many thanks to the huge crowd of Hurlford supporters, coaching team & committee (even the guy with the bell lol!) whose enthusiastic support for their team, impeccable behaviour and magnanimosity in defeat helped to make this such a superb occasion.

The two teams were quite evenly matched although Hurlford had the edge in terms of chances in the first half, not that there were many.

Hurlford were even more on top once the Pollok player was sent off, however I think they got their tactics wrong. They persisted with long balls to Kean & Robertson who were being marked by two of the biggest centre halves in the world. They had more joy when going down the wings and cutting the ball back.

As it was, Hurlford should have done a lot better with a man advantage and some of the penalties were awful.

Today was a typical semi final. Terrible to watch and littered with nervous.

Hurlford certainly had more possession but didn't really trouble Longmuir as the defence dealt with most of it.

We created a few openings but didn't have our shooting boots on, our best chance and probably the best of the match fell to Davie Winters after Robbies flick but he couldn't lift it over the keeper.

As for the penalties, as your said some poor, but some very good ones under pressure.

But all that matters is we are in the final.

Oh and noticed nothing about the ref being mentioned on here asking if he won it for us, certainly can't say that after today and Tazs sending off for two booking with the first being caused by the refs poor decision to stop play once Pollok won the ball

Does the Pollok player miss the final after getting sent off with 2 bookings today?

No suspensions don't work like that.

A straight red means suspensions in the following games regardless of the competition.

Two yellows are usually just points/fine I think.
