2016 Scottish Cup Final - Hibernian FC v Rangers

Fair statement but disappointing there's no mention of the Rangers fans who attacked our supporters. We can't expect punishment for them if we don't even speak up about it.

That's exactly the kind of tit for tat pish that I think they did really well to avoid getting involved in.

Those giving evidence at the actual review can be sure to point out that the arses on both sides were in the wrong.

An odd report on it there on Reporting Scotland.

It talked repeatedly of violence, but could only really show significant evidence of it from 1980.

There was one shot of a Rangers player being forcefully pushed from the back on Saturday, but when the report tried to trace a timeline, it referred to how quickly Hibs fans attacked Rangers players and rival fans. The only rival fans assaulted were surely those that entered the field for a fight, no?

I think the aggression of Rangers' statements, appears to be paying off. A narrative is fast emerging that doesn't reflect reality.

A Rangers supporting mate who was at the game and in the section next to where the smoke was let off was extremely pissed off by it. He said they couldn't see most of the pitch through the smoke and could hardly breath because of the acrid fumes. Many of the fans round about him complained to stewards and police, pointing out the area where the first flare came from and they did nothing about it. A female fan took a steward to the exact spot the smoke came from and pointed out the group who had done it, again nothing was done. The two flares later on in the match came from exactly the same place.

So this grassing culture is ingrained in the club then?

Hibs fans who threw any punches and damaged the goal and the pitch should be banned for life.

Rangers fans who threw punches should be banned for life.

Rangers should also be punished for the flares and songs that have conveniently been ignored. Handy for them!

Harsh but fair.

You do realise that no matter what results Hibs have in the future, they will matter not one fucking iota given what happened on Saturday, right :)

This. We won the biggy. An absolutely seismic win which will never be taken away from us by anyone.

The guy who punched the Rangers fan who tried to steal the child should get a free season season ticket though. And the fans who broke the goal should pay for a new one, that's enough. Anyone committing random violence or attacks on the Rangers players or staff should be banged up and banned for life.
