West Premier final standings

Recommended Posts

Maybe it means that there is strength in depth in the league just look how many east sides were in quarters of Scottish was there not 6 teams from West super league plus Kilwinning who are in the next league plus they beat 2 of the better east league teams in linlithgow and camelon so my opinion is its great for Junior football

I'd agree with that tbh, we put out 3 teams from the east top division and have struggled in the league.

We've given ourselves a chance, albeit still a slim one, with yesterday's win over Troon. Shettleston have Meadow away and Hurlford at home, while we have Ladeside away and Meadow at home.

Arthurlie have more games to play and will know exactly what they need from their final games should either us or Shettleston (or both) go above them.

The standard of football is improving year on year in the juniors as senior teams cut there cloth, also making a huge difference is the state of surfaces teams are playing on,which has improved hugely.

Talbot still the benchmark imo. Then you have the money men Hurlford/pollok. The rest are of an equal footing

The standard of the best sides has dropped and the mid-table sides have improved a bit.

The Talbot of the preceding 3 seasons would have scooshed this league. The fact they're in transition and still looking like slight favs tells you all you need to know.

It's good to see a few clubs with an active interest in the title as we enter May though.

Four teams being in contention is competitive yes but competitive doesn't always mean it's a great standard.

Just feel that a team with any real consistency would be running away with It and that the general standard hasn't been like lots of years before .

Don't get that at all. Any football fan should want an open league every season. Why would you crave one consistent team......unless it's your own.

Shettleston, Arthurlie and Peasy are now getting good rests between games. For example, Beith face three of the strongest teams in the country in 5 days before heading to Dunterlie on Day 7 to face a team that is fresh as a daisy. Beith could quite easily pick up nothing this week. I think Peasy will get to 25 points, Arthurlie to 27/28 and the wild card is Shettleston. Can they turnover Hurlford and Meadow?

Meadow actually hold the key to who they take down with them with them still to play shettleston and peasy. Wouldn't surprise me if meadow turned them both over n Arthurlie wouldn't need to do much. Think if Arthurlie beat kilbirnie tomoro then they are safe.

Think you could actually be right about meadow holding the key. There's no way they'll roll over to peasy. Too many ex peasy and ashfield players in their dressing room for that. However, Peasy might be able to decide their own fate depending how results go before next Saturday. At this stage of the season results are totally unpredictable with some teams playing 3 times a week and other only playing Saturdays.

It's almost as though no one wants to win the title. We could be in line for the lowest winning points total.

I said this a few days ago mate but was shot down in flames by a hurford fan who probably only started watching his team four years ago .

The league nobody wants to win .
