What a complete farce. Cockwomble is literally the worst negotiator in all of human history. Vital to finish second now

Blame the chairmen who make up the slfp board, they make the rules and decisions.

The play offs are a sham, set up to make it harder for the teams trying to come up.

Usually at this point someone (correctly) points out that 'the SPFL is the clubs'. So how does that work in reality?

The Rovers are clearly pretty peeved at this, or at least McKinnon is, but is Eric Drysdale (hey, a can of worms! And it's open!) not on that board?

How and when are these decisions made? Do the SPFL have a permanent staff who can make these kinds of decisions, or is everything covered at a board level? And is this fallout from the deal agreed at the start of the season or something that's been given the green light much more recently?

Potentially 3 games in 5 days. Good to see they aren't trying to stack these games up to put the teams at a disadvantage

The semi-final is being played on the 10th and the 13th.  The Premiership clubs will be playing on the 7th, 11th and the 14th.  I'm not sure how that's "stacking things" in anyone's favour.

Because the quarters is 3 days prior to they games?

The Championship team who reach the final might not even have played in that.

If they have, it's one extra game, if they haven't then it's one less game.

Guest Back Post Misses

I wish clubs would shut the f**k moaning about TV fucking the game about and do something about it.

Reality is they wont because they have sold their arses to the corporate TV companies who use Scottish Football to fill their shite slots on their schedules.

The sooner they wake up to this the better.

My own club are amongst the worst culprits. Lead the charge and Bent over for a corrupt play off system for a few quid and now moaning when it bites them in the arse. Hell mend them. Ritchie's filthy hands are all over this.

Its two more games and a cup final too if it's us.  It's well in the favour of the Prem side, there cant be any denying that.  Killie could get pumped all their remaining games, draw the first play off and win the second match 1-0 and stay up where as we might have to win 3 ties over 2 legs.

Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday-Tuesday-Friday is a heavy schedule in anybody's book, particularly with a Wednesday-Sunday to follow at the back of it. Shock horror that when Rangers were in the play-offs they got a week between QF ties.

Play it this time but these have to be better organised next time around.

It's two extra games including the cup final, not two AND the final.  The play-off quarter-final first leg is the only "extra" game for the Championship clubs between now and the end of the season.

Killie would be playing Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday and then the final.

Hibs would be playing Wednesday-Saturday-Tuesday-Friday and then the final(s).

Killie or Hamilton or whoever could lose all their remaining games in the league, but that doesn't make them any less intense or competitive.  The Premiership clubs will be slogging it out to stay up just like the Championship clubs are slogging it out to reach the final.

I don't have a major issue with this. Sure, to play two ties across Wednesday-Saturday-Tuesday-Friday will be really tough for whoever has to do it. But then, if it were to be us - let's remember we finished fourth in a ten team league. Much as that was an achievement for us, we can't complain about things being made tough for us in the play-offs. If we wanted to avoid it, we'd have had to have finished second. Anything we do get out of this is a bonus.

And as craigkillie has already noted, this way it actually helps the Championship club, whoever it is that comes through it, to be able to play the final on more even terms.

I'm confused about who's playing who and when!

Seemingly now:

Wednesday 4th May

Raith Rovers v Hibernian (not on TV?)

Saturday 7th May

Hibernian v Raith Rovers (12:30pm)

Tuesday 10th May

Hibs/Raith v Falkirk

Friday 13th May

Falkirk v Hibs/Raith

Thursday 19th May *

Falkirk/Hibs/Raith v Premiership #11

Sunday 22nd May *

Premiership #11 v Falkirk/Hibs/Raith

* or Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 25th May if Hibs involved
