Dunning1874
You went right down after he left, correct? There's no denying Hughes did a great job at Falkirk, at least prior to his last season, but this means nothing in terms of Hughes. A team going downhill after a manager leaves doesn't mean the manager leaving was the cause - the issue is who the next manager is. Falkirk went down because they appointed Eddie May, not because John Hughes left - had they replaced him with a proper manager things would have turned out very differently. Hughes had a perfect record keeping Falkirk up. If he stayed they would have stayed up, stats show this and there's no evidence to suggest otherwise. Hughes left Falkirk with hardly any players left on the books and a European game just round the corner − appointing Eddie May to sort it out was the coup de grace. (It was even rumoured that Hughes neglected to offer contracts to certain players as he hoped to take them to Hibs.) IIRC the uncertainty around the club at the time meant we didn't even have any friendlies arranged Happy days

1320Lichtie
Are the dates 4th and 7th for Quarters 11th and 14th for semis 18th and 22nd for final - depending on Hibs participation Will all these games be televised, Wednesday nights champions league clash (what a lot of shite) aside? Gaz FFC
Playoffs look a bit of a shambles before they even start. Because the 1st game is scheduled for Wednesday against the Champ league it's not live. Then if Hibs do finish 3rd because Hearts are at Home on Saturday, they're moving Hibs v Raith to Sunday May 8 Good start.
