Ayr United v "Blu" Stranraer

Recommended Posts

Perhaps you won't get this but Ayr Utd are a much bigger club than Stranraer from a far bigger town. You sneaked a narrow win at home and by all accounts it was probably slightly against the run of play. Hardly anything to be smug about! Both clubs will be in the play offs and every chance Stranraer can do better than what should be the BIG club in comparison.

Behave yourself, comment when you've been at a game and by the way Stranraer will be no where near the play offs.

Bottom line anytime you take pleasure out of beating us in a league fixture it means two things:-

1/ We must be punching above our weight  for you to view beating us as an achievement.

2/ You must be struggling given we are in the same league. Bottom line Ayr Utd should be a league above Stranraer given the vast difference in catchment areas.

Stranraer 4th in Division 1 and Ayr Utd 3rd. Only an idiot wouldn't be able to see which team is meeting and exceeding expectations and which team is having a mare in the grand scheme of things.

Sorry but after completing a risk assessment I came to the conclusion that visiting your club's ground wasn't a good idea. Stranraer will be in the play offs!

Stranraer were by far the better side in the opening stages, not so much in the second half. Nice to see Jamie Adams back to his best!

After a dodgy start, pass marks to the back four. A few nice bits and pieces from Trouten. Wardrope decent in the second half while Stevenson largely anonymous but fantastic tackle for the second.

Preston needs a goal, seems to be lacking confidence.

This talk of Stranraer having no chance making the play offs is ridiculous, no worse than either of the other sides.

Couldnt believe Adams got man of the match as did ok but nowhere at all near his form pre injury. Would take Stevenstons performance today over most other weeks and his 35 yard screamers. Thought he saved us in the first half as he was one of the few who demanded the ball ,held onto it buying us time and then played a simple pass. The midfield was all over the place mostly and the ball was like a hot potato. Preston does need a goal as his finishing is dreadful which is a pity as the rest of his game is ok.

Yes we were perhaps fortunate to sneak a win but we did have half a team missing also. Perhaps if you lot had trained harder and lost a few of the beer guts then today would have had a different outcome.

Stranraer exceeding expectations? A few wins have dragged you out the gutter but this team isn't a patch on last season when you had a proper manager.

I sort of agree with the latter part of that statement but 4th in League 1 sure ain't bad for a club of our size and resources.

Not much from 4th to 7th though and you still have half of last seasons team playing but still a decent effort. If you'd included having Reid as a manager I'd have said a phenomenal feat.

Is there a reason you are a dribbling mess?

The better team won today, the slightly worse team came close when they brought their better players on (at the right time, great timing from Reid btw, unlucky it didn't come off)

Disagree this years team is much better than last IMO.
