A weird smell

This thread probably won't last long but I thought I'd give it a bash anyway.

Yesterday there was a thread posted about the ET article where the Pollok boss was ranting about getting coins lobbed at him.

After a few comments, mostly having a dig at the man's hypocrisy, the thread disappeared.

Is it just me or is there a funny smell coming from Pollok? It seems that they are absolutely desperate to keep any controversy out of the public eye. I say this for the following reasons:-

1- All major incidents concerning them (red cards etc) get cut out of their highlights packages. This seems like a smart move when you consider they could be appealing them at a later date.

2- As demonstrated yesterday, criticism on here towards their manager seems to be halted. Why did this happen? Who called who?

3- The article itself didn't exactly have a balanced view in the first place.

It may just be my imagination, but it seems this club has some sort of special power over this forum in particular. Are there admin people with vested interests? I would hope not as the article is a public piece which, for me, showed how hypocritical Mr McInally was being.

If he is a big enough boy to give quotes like this, he should be a big enough boy to take the comments which come his way afterwards.

Again, this thread might go the same way but hopefully not as this is meant to be a forum where fans air their views. I didn't see anything personal or defamatory in what was written. Especially in light of the stuff which was being thrown towards KL supporters by the Pollok boss.

Just saying like.

Think it has went a lot higher than a moderator . As far as I'm led to believe mods can only lock threads they can't remove them permanently. You actually have to complain to the site owner to have a thread removed . If this is the case then it defiantly shows that they are trying to cover things up. Having read the match programme & then his comments in the evening times then all I can say is that he has more faces than the town clock . No one from our club will excuse the reaction of a very small minority who reacted . But the plain facts of the matter are that if Mr McNally hadn't turned round & went out his way to goad the travelling support who were behind his dugout despite our club asking for segregation but being told by Pollok that it wasn't needed nothing would have happened . This is my view as a fan of my club . I speak myself & have no official connection whatsoever to them

No doubt we will get the Lok fans out in force now defending their custodian & saying we are all just jealous . Absolute shite. We don't live in a communist state & we are entitled to free speech . If people are going to get threads shut down because it offends them or paints them in a negative light despite them shown to be two faced then we'd be as well closing the whole shop down

Pollok are the biggest club in the Juniors and should be treated as such. It's best for the grade if a Glasgow team playing in a superb stadium are beating yokels from Ayrshire.

There are two things you can do - nothing, and like it.

totally agree with you. If he wasn't a fud then he would have kept his cool, celebrated (as he should have) with his own backroad staff, players and fans. But instead caused scenes which do not have a place in the junior game. If it wasn't for his idiocy then we wouldn't have countless posts on this forum talking about what happened out with the game rather than the game itself.

A detailed legitimate reply was given by myself as a supporter and only a supporter of my club in response to the remarks made in the programme.

Seems like this was a catalyst for the thread to have been binned otherwise why wasn't it done so before?

We have people who think they can say whatever the hell the want but soon as a reasonable reply is given to show them up the toys are well and truly thrown out the pram.

His comments on my club will have been read by many home fans, away fans, neutrals, ground hoppers etc thankfully most will take them for what they are ridiculous ramblings designed to make he and his management look better after poor results against a club who won't even have half the resources his do. Doesn't mean they should go unchallenged our team and players deserve a robust defence of their character.

Can you imagine Mr Sloan getting involved in in any of this sort of stuff then threatening all sort of things when you get shown up. No Mr Sloan wouldn't as that manager has class, and he would have that class weather he was one of the most successful managers of all time (which he is) or if he had been the manager of a bottom of the table district side for the last ten years.

Nobody even came back to me on on post as it was spot on in everything it said though we did get a in Tony we trust comment from a smart arse pollok supporter akin to a starving north korean peasant shouting oh dear great one we love you.

I don't expect this thread to last this site owner will be getting a call this morning again.

I've tried to stay out this debate, the mud slinging needs to be calmed a bit.

We are all decent folk who like supporting our local junior team, doesnt make you a bad person even if you can't handle a swally.

Ladeside have previous, don't I know it.

That's why the club contacted the police and Pollok to discuss crowd arrangements.

That's why we took the names of everyone travelling on the buses.

That's why Dugout Joe has been swiftly dealt with.

Our manager has responded impeccably after his previous side line misdemeanor.

I really can't think of anything our club could have done other than asking the fans to move from the home dugout.Due to the road works at Silverburn buses were a bit late and that area of the shed was what remained.

Deep breathes all round and move forward PLEASE.

Just a thought, rather than point the finger at Pollok regards the thread going AWOL could there maybe be a possibility that its the flip side and say for instance off the top of my head errrr .......... Rob Roy have made a complaint about said article to the authorites and asked for the thread to be removed until such times as their complaint is heard?

No inside ifo, no srystal ball but a thought.......... well everyone else is having a guess so why not eh?

i dont know if its me being naive or turning a blind eye to all this, but when it comes to junior football i lead a simple life.

i turn up with my old man (have done for the past 25 years) pay my £6.00, have a bit of banter with the home crowd, the travelling crowd and watch a game of football attempted to be played....sometimes football will happen....but only in short doses.

win, lose or draw we leave with a smile on our face as we've had a good day regardless the result.....repeat again the week after.

i do agree with your points though, and it only made me question this when the highlights of the game against rob roy went up. i didnt manage to get to the game, and was wanting to have a look at the red card and noticed it wasnt in the highlights.

maybe it is one big conspiracy....i dont know?

all i know is that i turn up week in week out to watch football, to support the team i love, to socialise and have a good time with my old man.

Nobody has ever told me to exclude any incident from the highlights in the 10 seasons i have been filming. Stujay you'll have maybe noticed also that i didn't show the horrendous tackle on mackenzie that led to 2 pollok players being sent off in the rob roy  game at newlandsfield.

i can only assume that these incidents are left out of the highlights for the same reason that perhaps these also arent shown on the big screen in games.

Not questioning your methods, just saying that i had only noticed when i was actively looking out for the Monti red card.

The thing about highlights is that whoever produces them has the right to edit them as they see fit. We don't pay the license fee for youtube clips and nobody is forced to watch them. It seems weird to complain about bias in something that is obviously by and for fans of one club. Of course it's biased.
