KnightswoodBear
Katherine Ryan gets away with it by being a wid. edit: I realise that after my Sarah Millican revelation (it's somewhat comforting to find out I'm not the only one), that opinion may not count for much. Hillonearth
Jason Manford - he just seems like a Peter Kay tribute act, only a bit less fat and more willing to send photos of his cock to people. Lee Evans - watching somebody sweat isn't entertainment. If it was, they'd sell tickets to saunas. Most improv-based comedians like Ross Noble or Phil Kay - the odd time it comes off it can be really funny, but there's nothing more cringeworthy than when it doesn't and they start trying to force it.
Black and White Tragic
I know this guy - not well, but I can confirm that he is a cock. I've spoken to him several times in the past at various get-togethers (although not recently), and he is a pillock. He used to go out with my wife's cousin. He came up a few times for Christmas and one or two other things; I found him condescending and arrogant. Anyway, they've split up now - and my wife's cousin seems a lot happier. So how is your wife's cousin getting on with the new identity?
milton75
What pisses me off is that some of these comedians have the same material for years. I've gone to a few comedy clubs over the last few years.....no massive stars, but some who are well known on the Scottish comedy circuit. We saw Keir Mcallister a couple of times, about two years apart, and most of his material the second time was exactly the same as the first time. Fair enough, it's maybe unreasonable to expect them to change their entire repertoire every six months, but surely, it should be a continual adding in of some new stuff, and ditching the older stuff, so that if you see them once a year, most of their act will be new to you. Otherwise, why the hell would you pay to see them again? Also, it often depends on the audience. I saw David Kaye twice..... The first time he had the audience in stitches, dealt with a heckler better than anyone I've ever seen, the second time, he crashed and burned. It was dire. I was willing the audience to laugh, but they were having none of it. I'm going to see Romesh Ranganathan this year, so I'm hoping he will be good Singers/ songwriters can dine off one song sometimes - for the rest of their life. Crowds will complain when they try to do new stuff rather than the old classics that people know and love. Comedians need to produce new material every few weeks? That's incredibly difficult. I don't think it's outrageous that they come up with new stuff once every year or two though. If someone goes and sees the same comedian twice within 6 months, then it's their own fault if they've heard it all before. I think a lot of it is down to laziness. Richard Herring does a new show pretty much every year, and his various podcasts either have ad-libbed material or stuff written during the previous week. I'm sure it's not easy, and the quality does vary because of it, but it shows it can be done.
KnightswoodBear
Sounds like his material hit home and you took offence whilst lots of people laughed, tbh... I believe the correct response here is "whoosh"
Rudolph Hucker
Ricky Gervais. Unfunny, sneering, manipulative, condescending twat. And Ant and Dec, if they can be classed as supposed to be funny in any way. Frank Skinner and David Baddiell, whether individually or collectively. Grim O'Grady
Grimbo Senor Bairn How very dare you senile Bairn (did you see what I did there? Chuckles). I was pished last night & actually laughed at Jo Caulfield, it was a bit cruel as she was trying to have a quiet drink with her husband at the time. Shandon Par
I don't believe that this bell end hasn't been mentioned yet. You've let me down P&B Thanks Romeo - saved me the trouble of posting. In car and in office DAB saved me from the horror of ever having to listen to him when he was on Radio Scotland in the mornings.
Mark Connolly
Sara Pascoe seems to be the latest panel show female box ticker. She spends most of the time laughing at her own jokes, which takes it to a total of one person laughing.

Antlion
Sara Pascoe seems to be the latest panel show female box ticker. She spends most of the time laughing at her own jokes, which takes it to a total of one person laughing. I've seen her popping up everywhere, after only seeing her once in "Todd Margaret" a few years ago. She always seems slightly awkward and ill-at-ease, especially after attempting a joke.
Jacksgranda
Holly Walsh Just a seat filler so the BBC can meet it's equal rights targets. Eta: add Katherine Ryan to the same category. Different seat, presumably.
RawB93
Dave Gorman. !! His show on Dave is one of the best "stand ups" I've seen. It's more interesting social experiments than reeling off gags, but I really like it. Russell Howard - comedy for 14yo's

throbber
I usually like Bill Bailey but saw him at Playhouse last year and nothing funny happened, especially on the second part of his act.
Wee Bully
So, basically what we have here is confirmation of the fact that not everyone finds the same stuff funny. To use a musical analogy - I've got mates who don't like Bob Dylan Not their scene at all. Doesn't make him shite. Just something they don't like. -

DrewDon
Agreed. Patience testing w**k. Spot on. Resides at the very apex of it, I would say. When there is the comedy equivalent of the Nuremberg trials, this b*stard will be hung from the highest f*cking lamppost.

The only people who laugh at these comedians are fat women who spend their social life making / laughing at innuendos to get themselves through life so they don't commit suicide on the factory floor. With music on the other hand, there's plenty of variation in taste in people from all walks of life, so not the greatest of analogies tbf.
