eastlothianfootballer Posted February 26, 2016 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Went to watch this game last week, the Ormiston committee had been on the park since 8am to ensure the park was playable. Both teams arrived and were in the middle of getting stripped when the referee decided to call the game off. Having watched the inspection I couldnt see why the game was off, I went to watch a juniors game since this game was off and the park there was certainly worse than this. The referee appeared to dismiss any requests from the Ormiston committee to go back down to the park to show the issues which I think is terrible. I even heard him asking to get his match fee to him so that he could get away..... What I did notice was that LTHV looked short of players and that the referee was spoken to by them before the inspection. I hope there was no pressure put on the ref to have the game called off!! pie n beans Posted March 26, 2016 Share Posted March 26, 2016 Unfortunately it does happen, it happened to my team earlier in the season the pitch was not playable and the opponents were talking to the ref for a good 10 mins before it.
